It was a maize yellow golden color, and a strong yeast aroma. The taste was nice, complex, and fruit peels. It was a great tasting beer, tart, and biting, but complex and changing throughout

| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Nov 26, 2009 Subtle fruit taste with a striking champagne finish...mainly from the carbonation. I smelt and tasted cherries and oranges. It felt soft, crisp & buttery on my tongue. mattmc1973 (305), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 25, 2009 Bomber poured into a tulip. Pale orange/gold color, murky, with fluffy white head. Aroma of orange peel, lemon, coriander, yeast, funk, wheat. Taste is bitter and funky, with lots of lemon zest. Virtually no malt sweetness for balance, it’s all citrus and funk, with some tartness. Mouthfeel a bit thin and watery. Carbonation is fizzy and crisp, finishes dry. tnkw01 (204), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 25, 2009 Bottle. Cloudy apperance, with yeast on the bottom. Spicy, barnyard smell. Aww, another adventure into a sour beer. Well, this one is not bad. Maybe I’m getting the hang of this stuff. Still, not my first choice. Does have a nice malt-hop balance but that twangy taste..... ricke (246), Malme, Sweden
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 19, 2009 Hazy yellowish orange color with an enormous rocky off-white head that slowly slowly settles down. Lots of chunky lacings.
The smell is really good. Refreshing fruit aromas, floral notes and a mild funkiness reside on a delicate biscuity malty backbone. Hints of spices and medicinal phenols.
The taste is surprisingly clean with notes of lemon-peel and melon up front. The fruits quickly step aside and make way for spices, faint malts and grassy and earthy hop notes. A very mild funkiness and a semi-tart note is overpowered by a moderate sweetness. The finish is surprisingly short, mildly tart and bitter with notes of medicinals, spices, minerals and brett flavors.
Medium body, crisp and refreshing with a rather aggressive carbonation. The finish is really dry.
I like this one, and in general I find Jolly Pumpkin’s brett character quite pleasing. Perhaps Bam Bière can’t compete with the best Belgian representatives of the style, but it’s quite close.
