Malts, cranberry, spices and some mint in the aroma. Little bit of grass and yeast but not much. Color is a dark brown. Slightly tart flavor with some dark fruit, wet red oak and a bit of smoke. Interestng mesh of flavors. Finishes tart and roasty and makes the mouth salivate. A decent take on a saison. Skinnyviking (4170), Copenhagen, Denmark
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 24, 2008 Bottle. Low and quickly disappearing off-white fluffy head. Hazy dark red brown body. Mild and relatively sweet berries aroma. Flavor though is not exaxtly sweet but rather bitter and sour berries with a long aftertaste plus low carbonation. Pours like cherry wine with an attitude, complete with an aroma of lignonberry, cranberry, and mineral water. Flavor is sour cherry lambic soda. Heavenly mouthfeel. Jolly Pumpkin rocks. santos999 (318), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Dec 12, 2008 Year old bottle. This is a solid beer, and over the past year the funk has come out well. Dark black tastes blend with the funk nicely. I like it much more with some age, as young it didnt have enough sour. While this isnt my favorite JP brew, or even Bam brew, this is still a treat to try. ericandersnavy (1133), crossroads, Texas, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 7, 2008 Celery like overtone to the sour and lightly roasty aroma. Clear deep amber brown topped by a fine bubbled off white head that recedes to a lasting cover with some lacing. Lightly sour and quite roasty with underlying biscuity malt character. Bitterness is quite strong but not overwhelming. Dry medium body with moderate soft and fine bubbled carbonation. Tulip glass. Just above cellar temperature. Bottle, Batch 258,259, Hi-Time 08/08. Aroma is sour with light roast and some JP funk. Taste is fruity with dark malts and spices and a touch of roast. Lively carbonation and dryish mouthfeel. ilovedarkbeer (1367), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 7, 2008 Bottle from Bhops. Dark mahogany colored pour with a small off white soapy head. Nose is funky, malty, and some fruit. Taste is about the same with a weak mouthfeel. I dont get that much and for a saison I like to see more spicy dry notes.
