Commercial Description:
One of Bam's brown eyes is, in fact, black. When mischief reigns supreme, it positively glows. Dedicated to the dark side; smooth, dark, incredibly delicious as only a Jack Russell with bat wings can be.

Celery like overtone to the sour and lightly roasty aroma. Clear deep amber brown topped by a fine bubbled off white head that recedes to a lasting cover with some lacing. Lightly sour and quite roasty with underlying biscuity malt character. Bitterness is quite strong but not overwhelming. Dry medium body with moderate soft and fine bubbled carbonation. Tulip glass. Just above cellar temperature. Bottle, Batch 258,259, Hi-Time 08/08.

Bottle thanks to Bhops. Pours with a light brown head and a hazy dark brown body. Aroma is sour with light roast and some JP funk. Taste is fruity with dark malts and spices and a touch of roast. Lively carbonation and dryish mouthfeel.

Bottle from Bhops. Dark mahogany colored pour with a small off white soapy head. Nose is funky, malty, and some fruit. Taste is about the same with a weak mouthfeel. I dont get that much and for a saison I like to see more spicy dry notes.

Poured into an Ommegang goblet. Dark mahogany with a thick crown of beige head. Excellent retention and lacing. Great brett aroma with tart vinous notes, unripe cherry, and a touch of cocoa mix. Flavor isn’t quite as deep or complex. Still some bitter fruit up front and a mild chocolate sweetness, plus a very peppery dry finish. Mouthfeel is quite overcarbonated at first, but after some swirling and breathing it comes down to a normal level.

12oz bottle from a recent trade....pours a reddish dark cola brown with yellow/orange edges and a thin film of white head towards the side of the glass.....aroma of soft tart and woody caramel notes.... thin flavor with soft tartness and a dry watery finish. really doesn’t offer too much. lacked flavor and a thin mouthfeel doesn’t help.

batch 327/328 hmmm...i really want to like this beer, but i just don’t. the bitterness from the dark malts just doesn’t jive with the tart funkieness from the yeast. aroma is slightly horsey, pour is nice deep amber, nice head...its just the taste...yuck.

Thanks to Fantomas23 for the bottle!
Mahogany with a large, foamy yellowish head. Very fresh, slightly sour nose of hay, grass, earth. Flavor is closer to traditional farmhouse, but it mixes well with the fresh qualities for a balance of sour fruit, wheat, and yeast. Ultra-light yet crisp and carbonated body, supremely drinkable. Enjoyable and perfect for a nice afternoon.
