Commercial Description:
One of Bam's brown eyes is, in fact, black. When mischief reigns supreme, it positively glows. Dedicated to the dark side; smooth, dark, incredibly delicious as only a Jack Russell with bat wings can be.

12oz bottle thanks to Artosory: Pours to a dark brown-amber colored body with a small tan head. When held to the light the body appears clear with no sediment visible. The aroma shows a bit of sour cherry, sour apple, wood, apple butter, and hints of a sweet apple cider. Taste is apple butter & sourness up front, then showing a bit of bitter walnut flesh, grapefruit rind, and sour herbal yeast notes, and sour oak. Finishes with extended sour oak/tart unripened strawberry flavors.

Bottle: Dark amber with ruby tones, smaller sandy colored head. Aromas of sweetness and fruit, hints of spice. Flavor is spicey and light, before moving into some maltiness. A little woody. Nice crisp, zing in the tail. Thanks Jordan.

Bottle pours a slightly hazy dark amber brown. Modest off white head. Dark pitted fruit, apple butter and a little smoke on the nose. More brown sugar, sloghtly sweet malt. Sour trailer.

Bottle: Dark mahogany color, light thin head and nice lacing. Nose of day-after-fireworks (sulfur), sweet candied cherries; obligatory yeast and ester. A bit of sage and rye, a touch of aged herbal yeast. The flavor is balanced with a balmy mouthfeel, plenty of spicy herbs, sweet lavender and wheat. Some special B licorice mug wort type of thing going on in the tail, tart and zesty. Nice, oak and cherry in the tail. Decent.

12oz bottle. Aroma: Lots of malt up front. Toasted bread, grainy malt, nuts. A whiff of oak and vanilla before the sour/funk come in. Lemon, green apple, dusty basement, and slight barnyard note. Appearance: Pours a deep and cloudy reddish brown. Off-white head was full and creamy with great retention. Great lacing. Flavor: Some lightly roasted maltiness upfront with flavors of bread and nuts. Sourness moves in fast, but isn’t overwhelming. Lemon, apple, cherry, dusty, and slight sweaty funk. Getting some oak into the finish. Palate: Medium-light bodied and watery. Medium high carbonation. Overall: Slightly disappointing. Regular Bam is a favorite of mine, so I had high expectations. Thin body and a flavor that never really came together. Maybe some age will help.

November 2007. 12 oz bottle consumed fresh. Pour is black with wisps of white and a ring of white cream. Aroma is sour up front, but I also smell some creamy doughy malt. Interesting. The flavor is tantalizing, sour tingly, kinda grassy? Weird, but not boring. This one I actually wish I had in a 750 - I need more time. 6/4/8/4/17

ADD RATING: First bottling (12oz) of this special beer. Pour is brownish black with a thin head of cream and lace. The aroma is really showing the bret sourness. Nothing too funky, just sour. The flavor is well-rounded; beginning slight sweet and malty, and finishing with the smooth sourness, almost like sour cherries. Very easy to drink. 7/4/8/4/18.
