lb4lb (1232), Austin, Texas, USA May 8, 2008 bottle shared at tasting. Pours a muddy chocolate brown with no head. Smell is fresh, tart, and fruity vinegar, and cherries. Taste is mild, dusty, and lightly funky with very faint tart fruity dark flavors. Bubbly mouthfeel, light, and mildly flavored compared to the nose again. Decent.
daknole (480), Plantation, Florida, USA Jul 4, 2008 Well this bottle was my first adventure into the Jolly Pumpkin line of beers. And I have to say I really didn’t enjoy it all that much. I think that the sourheads wont have another member soon. The funk and tartness is just too much for me. mar (465), Dallas, Texas, USA Jun 29, 2008 bottle courtesy of bu11zeye. black until held up to light color with no real head. slight sourness along with some spices in the background. sweet, sourness flavor that is very smooth. nice mouthfeel and a very balanced flavor overall. Great aroma - very funky with some interesting sweet/sour malt notes and a subtle spiciness. Medium bodied. Flavour is milder then expected, with some controlled funkiness along with toasted malt and yeast. Very tasty, very refreshing - I could drink a lot of this! thedm (3405), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Jun 26, 2008 This bottled brew from Indianapolis, IN poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized cream colored long lasting bubbles that left behind a transparent dark golden brown colored body with strong soda pop like carbonation and a good lacing. The aroma was funky and lambic like with a mild brown malty note. The mouth feel was tingly and crisp with a sour palate. The flavor contained notes of tingly bubbly lambic like sour and mild brown malts. madsberg (4356), Bangalore, India Jun 25, 2008 Updated: Jun 26, 2008Bottled at Papsoes Blind tasting 19th.
