12oz bottle thanks to Artosory: Pours to a dark brown-amber colored body with a small tan head. When held to the light the body appears clear with no sediment visible. The aroma shows a bit of sour cherry, sour apple, wood, apple butter, and hints of a sweet apple cider. Taste is apple butter & sourness up front, then showing a bit of bitter walnut flesh, grapefruit rind, and sour herbal yeast notes, and sour oak. Finishes with extended sour oak/tart unripened strawberry flavors.

Unclear medium brown color with a average, frothy - creamy, good lancing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, sour berry, friuty and woody. Flavor is moderate sweet, light to moderate acidic and light bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. (190608)

Aug 31, 2008 Bottled. Batch 262, 263. Dark brown pour, foamy, dense tan head. Sour nose--wet blanket, barnyard. Flavor was yeasty, barnyard, sour, with a hint of pineapple in the finish. The finish was dry and very saison-like. I really enjoy the offerings from Jolly Pumpkin and Bam Noire is no exception.

Aug 29, 2008 Bottle: Dark, murky amber pour with a frothy, tan head. Aroma hints at dark malts, spice, hay, dark fruits and some lactic acidity. Typical JP body, highly carbonated and biting...very nice. Mildly sour, dark malts in the flavor with additional notes of lemongrass. Ends on a dry, slightly sweet finish. Awesome.

Aug 28, 2008 kinda of thin, some flavors of wood and tart in everything else. The malt tang gives it an uneven flavor. only for the hardcore

Aug 28, 2008 The aroma is wild and funky with vinegar, malt, sour fruit, wood and yeast. The appearance is light brown with a large head. The flavor is like the aroma but has a nice toasty aftertaste. The palate is thin. Overall it’s not that good.
