Excellent density in the mouth. 30+ second finish leaves lingering oak nuance on the palate. Fully flavored, lots of depth. Very balanced, well executed.
Cons: Not a single flaw that I can detect.
What a beauty. Thanks, Derek.

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 10, 2009 12 oz bottle from WTF OMG tasting. Pours a hazy golden yellow color topped by a small, foamy off white head that settles quickly to a thin film. The aroma is really nice with notes of soured apples and other tart citrus to go with some funky wood characters and the sour mash and vaniila from the bourbon barrel. The flavor follows with more tart citrus and sour green apples mixed nicely with soem funky oak tannins, and a touch of bourbon. Some vanilla from the oak comes through as well and smooths out the tart flavors. Full bodied and mouth puckering tart with ample carbonation leading to a lengthy sour apple finish. I love the regular Bier de Mars, and this one is just even better. Fantastic sour ale, and the best brew from Jolly Pumpkin that I have had. SoLan (1423), Orlando, Florida, USA
