Superb aroma. Flavor is herbs, leather, orange peel, and spices, with a distinctive sour tang to it. A bit cheesy on the finish as well, but quite nice.

A golden bronze pour with a fully clouded body. Dryness bleeds from the nose. Green apple peels with cinnamon, some funk, and oak dust. Taste of kleenex, pear skins, and oregano, finishing on a floral and white pepper kick. Brisk and earthy palate. Acidity and dryness pulse alternatively in the mouth. Somewhat dramatic, leaving a very serious upper class impression.

750 ml bottle, ...hazy dark amber/ orange, edging on reddish’brown appearance, creamy froth atop, long-lasting in the glass. Tart, woody nose, a hint of cherry...darker tones emerge...very mysterious and intriquing. Fills the mouth well on first imbibement, tart cherry flavor dominates, sour, then sweet. Floods the mouth, coats the corner with generous flavor, slides out having done it’s job, unloading unique explosions of taste off the tongue and down the hatch. There’s a constant recurrence of the pucker, then the dark oak, then the sweet, as it rounds and quietly depart. Refreshing and drinkable, despite it’s stronger than average alcohol, (yet moderate, considering current trends). I like this. A very interesting beer, that doesn’t fit easily into stylistic folds. Fine with me. One can enjoy this easily with dinner, or sipping slowly in the company of friends. just don’t expect it to blow you mind or bust your tastebuds in 10 or 12 new ways.

Finally got to drink this beer on the fourth of July, been saving it (unintentionally) for awhile. Was worth the wait. 750 purchased from West Lakeview. Orange amber color with huge frothy/creamy white head. Very nice barnyard funk aroma. Flavor was nice sour, dull malt, cherries and oak. Nice full body with somewhat cramy body. Another great beer from JP.

Pours a dark brown color with a small white head. Has nice lacing. Has hints of sour fruit and spices and oak taste. Finishes with a subtle hint of sourness, but finishes smooth. Enjoyed very much.
