Perfectly balanced aroma with notes of dry lemony citrus, spicy and dry oak wood, light horse blanket, fruity and basement-like yeast, prunes, raisins, white tart grapes, black cherries, tart pears and green apples. Herbal hops and mild cookie-like caramel malt lingering in the background. Undertones of earth, dust and black tea alongside a tiny touch of cocoa and ginger. Nice brett and phenol character. The flavour is medium acidic, light sweet/dry and light bitter. Tones of lemony citrus, unripe green apples, tart pears, light horse blanket, mold, wood, some herbal hops and super dry honey. The mouthfeel is soft and rich with a medium carbonation. The finish is earthy and citric with a light touch of milk chocolate. Medium bodied. I like. Jblauvs (578), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jul 21, 2009 Cloudy brown pour with some orange tints, small cream colored head. Aroma holds tart fruit, wood, lots of spice, and some molasses and caramel malt. Flavor starts with definite tartness, then slowly shifts to heavy sweet malt and alcohol, with notes of bretty acidity still lingering near the finish. Palate is wondrous- seems to warm and slowly melt right into the tongue, and the acidity combines with the sweetness to linger beautifully. A really good brew. larsga (2969), Oslo, Norway

Pours a dark cherry shade with a trim tan head. Semlls and tastes very similar to La Folie. A very approachable sour ale that prominently features the flavors of oak, sour cherries, lemon zest, and mild caramel. The best beer I’ve yet to have from JP. darkguardian (506), Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 7, 2009 750ml. Pours a red brown with a thin beige head. Nose is sour cherry with strong woody notes, vanilla caramel and black peppercorns. Also a straw like note thats a little odd. Fairly spicy up front with sour cherry notes. Big woody creamy caramel in the middle. A burst of suprising hops in the finish keep this one balanced but also keep it from being a favorite of mine. As always with JP, an interesting and well done beer. KnutAlbert (3127), Oslo, Norway
