The nose is tart and yeasty, a bit of citrus layered over funk. The taste is similar but after my tastebuds got acclimated to the tart funkiness I picked up a smooth wheaty character as well. The mouthfeel was excellent, very lively carbonation. I haven’t been a huge fan of the Witbier style in the past but maybe all it needed was a blast of Brettanomyces to make it more palatable. smooch (104), Sylvania, Ohio, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 3, 2009 Cloudy white pour with a thick white head. Funky, sour, yeasty aroma with a bit of wheat. Flavor is ctirus and wheat with a sour, funky finish. I’d been thinking about this for a while, and it did not disappoint. This is the kind of beer you can sit and drink and enjoy for a while. nickd717 (1348), Palo Alto, California, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jan 27, 2009 The color is a tad bit cloudy with a thin off white head, and some minor spots along the sides of the glass. The nose is full of lemon grass with some floral hops and malt. Initially the flavor is amazing there is so much going on in your mouth. You can taste a lot of lemon and spice blended with tropical fruits. There is also a yeast like flavor that sticks to the sides of your mouth. Overall it has a great texture with a well balanced flavor and great amount of carbonation. Also impressed with choice of yeast since it really makes the beer what it is.
