Picked up the orange and coriander, also the sour / funk that is Jolly Pumpkin. Not a bad beer, but not my favorite Wit. badlizard (2386), Berkeley, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | May 23, 2007 750 mL bottle. Hazy honey yellow with big fluffy white head. Aroma of citrus, spice and yeast. Initially lively palate. Taste orange and yeasty with the coriander showing through toward the end. Has a clean finish with almost no lingering taste, but it does develop a good tartness as it warms. malrubius (1004), Valley Stream, New York, USA

Pours very pale, cloudy orange with orange-tinted-white, lasting head with nice lacing, definitely a nice appearance. Surprisingly light tart orange and spice aroma. Flavor is pleasantly tart, like other JP beers, but the tartness in this one seems to overwhelm the other subtle flavors of orange, spice, and wheat. These flavors seem a little more present as the beer warms up a bit. Body is light-medium as it should be, very slightly overcarbonated giving it a bite on the tongue in the finish. A very refreshing brew that I would drink again, but the refreshing tartness is a little much in such a subtle and delicate style. IEBAILI (123), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 19, 2007 Love the touch of sour, the orange peel in the aroma, the subtle spiciness, the all around refreshingness. Golden color, pretty clear. My first beer from Jolly Pumpkin, can’t wait to try some more. Great summer beer. OKBeer (1159), Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada

Classic wit appearance - hazy pale yellow with a fully lasting rich creamy white head. Heavy spicy and acidic coriander and orange peel aroma with peppery and toasty notes. Acidic and tart citrus flavour with a dry yeasty and nutty bitter finish. Light to medium bodied, creamy and fizzy mouthfeel. Maybe a bit too tart for a wit, but nicely refreshing. 750 ml bottle
Recent brewing, cleansed 05/07
Moderate pour in a mug.
Poured a hazy straw color with a huge rocky white head with fair lacing.
Smelt of strong fresh oranges and lemons, coriander, light bread and dough.
Taste was upfront strong sour orange and lemon juice with light to moderate bread notes followed by moderate sour oranges and lemon and bitter doughy yeast on an average finish.
Palate was light to medium bodied, lively carbonated, slightly dry on a dry finish, moderately puckering and slightly astringent.
Overall, this is a nice soft introduction to the sour beers of Jolly Pumpkin. The people whom I’ve shared this with, none of them being big craft beer drinkers, were very pleased with it. The sourness intrigues but doesn’t overwhelm. Not my personal favorite Jolly Pumpkin though. sheatripper (863), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 10, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Pour into my small weizen resulted in the explosive ’science experiment’ white head--foamy and craggy, creating a tall peak above the rim. Beer itself was ginger ale colored and very bubbly, with some yeast swirls. Aroma was slightly sour with some barnyard. Initially, tart and musty flavor leaving some light grass and a "lemon squeeze" on the finish. Mellows out after some time, where some of the orange peel/coriander notes come through. Robust, but not overbearing carbonation. Craftsmanship shows, but I doubt I’d spend the same for this one.
