This poured a wonderful lemmon yellow with bubbly carbonated head, but the aroma and flavor were sort of frustrating- extremely sour, funky, yeasty. I can see the orange peel, but no coriander due to the overwhelming sourness. Finish is extremely dry... like champagne, but more sourness. Not as interesting as the other JP beer I’ve tried. Hints of the coriander, lemony, maybe a little more body or a little more effervescence/sparkle -- I could go either way -- but the body feels a tinge thin or flat. The general feelign was that this was a perfectly thirst quenching beer that could have been kicked up a notch by greater acidity, flavor and/or effervescence. Still a wonderful beer. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 8, 2006 Yellow-gold in color with a bright white head that is mostly diminishing. Orange and lemon zest aroma, wheaty graininess, cloves, and coriander (pointed out rightfully so by my wife). Wheaty tanginess in the flavor, lots of lemon zest, sweet malts, and black peppery finish. Moderate-to-high carbonation. pintocb (518), Darsville, Georgia, USA

Poured a hazy cream color with some floaties. Smelled of citrus and honey? The taste was very sour with an unbelievably dry clean finish. Amazing beer. Thanks Jacob. Pours a hazy pale straw yellow with a fizzy-frothy white head that quickly diminishes to a patchy film. Aroma is yeast (earth, dough, cellar), citrus (orange zest), corriander and malt (grain, meal). Orange zest and lemon tartness to start, medium acidity and bitterness, corriander, pepper, yeast, oak and malt (straw) flavors. Medium to light bodied, fizzy and burpy, refreshing palate, lively carbonation. Boutip (2396), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada

Aroma of brettanomyces was overly dominant and left little space for the coriander and orange peel that were advertised on the label. Taste is also dominated by the brettanomyces with some hints of coriander and wheat. Body is definitely above average for the style and that made it pretty enjoyable. I’m not sure what to make of this beer since I’m not sure the brett was planned to be there but it didn’t stop my enjoyment of the beer.
