The aroma is wheaty with obvious notes of wood, light funk, sourish lemon and orange and some light yeasty and soapy notes. The flavour is wooden dry with some light funk, wood and tart wheat, citrus and orange. Just a hint of yeasty sweetness. You can feel a small spicy note together with the bone dry notes of wood in the aftertaste. All hail to the pumpkin! CUJO (357), Brooklyn, New York, USA

Batch 313: This beer is underrated! (and I always underrate, but this one is a keeper!) Pours a hazy light honey, leaving a white, medium dry head with fragile and shortliving lacing. The aroma immediately identifies itself as Witbier, bitter, sugary, citrus fruits poking you in the nostrils. The taste reveals more lemons than I expected, but nicely balanced with the spices and sugars, cleaned up evenly with the medium carbonation. A very refreshing, clean and defrickinlicious brew! Never the less...This beer was amazing. My first of the Jolly Pumpkin ales, and I am so excited that I bought four more bottles at the brewery. I got this on tap and it came to the table with virtually no head at all but it was a nice hazy yellow color. Aroma was all there, and the flavor was amazing! A bit sour, and certainly not what I expect from a Belgian white. Awesome craft beverage! BeerBaron617 (306), Novi, Michigan, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 17/20 | Jun 19, 2009 I shared a few sips of this on tap at Ashley’s in Ann Arbor, ironically enough it was on our way back from the actual brewery, which we stopped at to pick up a few bottles, which its just outside of Ann Arbor. It poured a hazy light yellow, with no head, but it seemed the bartender was at fault. The aroma was subtle, but the flavor was far from it. It was nice and slightly sour, with a great finish. Cheers to Ron and everyone at Jolly Pumpkin for the friendly words, and very well crafted ales! thenick (744), North Bellmore, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 18, 2009 Tap @ Spuyten Duyvil - what a great beer this was. Pours a cloudy straw color with a fluffy white head that left plenty of lacing on the inside of the glass. The aroma is citrus, coriander, clove, and a bit of Belgian yeast. Aroma is the same, with the citrus and spices melding together to form a sublime and surprisingly complex drinking experience. I think this was a great witbier and really well done by these guys. chopra (12), St. Louis, Missouri, USA

Classic citrus and spice flavors with strong hint of sourness. A must for Hoegaarden fans. ante (2941), Stockholm, Sweden
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 15, 2009 Bottled. Pours out in a hazy pale golden colour with a rich frothy white foam. Tart aroma of lemon, wood, orange-peels and mild pepper with yeasty undertones of green banana and coconut. Fairly light-bodied with notes of tart lemon, leaves, vanilla, yeast and oak. Lemony finish with touches of oak, coconut and yeast.
