Commercial Description:
Bam is an extra special dog. After surviving being struck by a car, he daily somehow manages to avoid being carried away by the largish birds of prey gliding overhead, riding unseen thermals. Bam's tenacity seems only to be surpassed by his oversized personality. Join us in this celebration of his excess. More malt, more hops, same vivacious personality.

This pours a dark amber color with a huge foamy head. Lively carbonation. The aroma is rather fragrant with fruits, yeast, and a little malt. Fruity flavors, sweet, but also sour and tart. Light dry hopping creates a numbing feel. I do like the fact that this is light and refereshing. Good beer but as the case with some other JP brews I’m left wanting a little more, perhaps due to the price tag.

Dark red-brown colored with little yellow head. Aroma is rather sour with fruits and apple. Medium bodied. Flavor is more herbal hopped with still sourness dominating, aftertaste dries.

Clear reddish amber with a massive light tan head. Be sure to pour this one slowly. Smells like birch, fresh hops, straw, vanilla, clove, and apricot. Lively on the palate with very fine carbonation, crisp and clean. Not much on the front end in terms of flavor, but the finish is clean fresh hops. The beer tastes a bit watery but not in an unpleasant way. There’s this fatty mouthfeel at the end that reminds me of Samuel Smith beers. Not bad, good for summer or spring on a hot day if you want to drink a light beer with a hoppy backbone.

(on bottle) nice chestnut color, bright white head. Woodt feel in the mouth, slightly harsh/sour. Has a distinct sloe tartness. Tastewise not that big; whole barley and a tad of smoke. Small waterish and malted finish, with hints of bret.

[ Batch 288/289 ]. Clear medium to dark amber color with a large, creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, nutty, light to moderate hoppy, grapefruity, moderate yeasty. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet, light light acidic and moderate to light heavy bitter with a average duration and a dry finish. Body is medium to light, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20081028]

Bottle. Dark amber, clear with a foamy ½” head. Nose-grapefruit, good funk, light sour, apple juice. Taste-light funk, chardonnay, wood, unbitter tannins, tea leaves, funk is really on the background, unsweet apple juice, muted aroma hops in the background. All the flavors are really nice, but the whole thing is kind of thin. I would appreciate more aggressiveness.

0.75 l bottle at Konttori, Tampere. Hazy amber color with creamy head. Sweetish aroma with strawberry, horsey brett, grapefruit and grassy dry hops. Bitter and horsey flavor with strawberry, grapefruit, grassy hops and fruity bitterness. Dry flavor yet soft oily mouthfeel. Tasty orval like beer.
