Commercial Description:
Bam is an extra special dog. After surviving being struck by a car, he daily somehow manages to avoid being carried away by the largish birds of prey gliding overhead, riding unseen thermals. Bam's tenacity seems only to be surpassed by his oversized personality. Join us in this celebration of his excess. More malt, more hops, same vivacious personality.

Tap at Ashleys in Ann Arbor. Has the jolly pumpkin signature tartness. I wouldn’t call this one hoppy, because it has kind of fruity, but there was bitterness there. Smooth, easy to drink. Not your typical bitter in my opinion but good nonetheless.

Bottle from Belmont Station in PDX--Poured a rich amber-copper body with a small wispy off-white head. Nose of sour cherries and sweet, hoppy piquancies. Oaky, nutty, floral, complex and scrumptious with a distinct astringent finish. Very nice beer.

Pours a light hazy copper with a huge tan head and abundant lacing. Aroma is medium sweet, sour cherry, some oak, light duskiness. Flavor is roast, sour cherry, typical JP yeast, light oak and caramel. Medium body, dry finish.

750ml from Warehouse Beverage, Cleveland Heights. Yet another fine one from JP. This Bam is darker than its parent, but with the same musty aroma and big rocky head. It’s so dry, so delectable, with tons of fizz in it. There’s a good deal of pepper in there, but in this incarnation of Bam it’s rounded out by some lovely fruity flavors. Very distinct and enjoyable.

Bottle courtesy of knight84. Thanks man!
Porus a dark maroon color with a fizzy beige head. Smell is fruity, tart, hoppy and perhaps almost a dry cherry scent. Taste is milder than the nose, is is lightly hoppy, a tad funky, a bit bitter and dry. Almost every Jolly Pumpkin beer leaves me wanting more flavor, and this was no exception. Not bad, but didn’t wow me.

Bottle (750ml) shared at ’Biegaman’s Second Annual Saison Tasting’ - courtesy of mds. Batch 267/268. Brick-amber colour with a slight haze. Aroma - awesome! Funk, hops, wood, quite dry. Flavour is tart and funky, followed by dry hops and earthy wood. Fantastic!

Hazy brown body with some copper at the edges. Topped by a khaki colored head. The aroma has lots of sweet apples and some funky wood. There is also a little bit of balsamic vinegar. The tase is largely dry wood followed by some grapefruit. There are also some tame apples to go with the wood. This gets worse as it warms.
