Taverner (441), San Ramon, California, USA Jul 14, 2008 OMG - I think I’m in love. This beer is a perfect marriage of bretts and hops. Dry like a good saison should be, full of bretts like a good sour and full of hops like an IPA! Pours a copper with minimal head. Aroma is bretts and hops. Flavor is the acidic sourness from the yeast and hoppy bitterness from the hops. Floral hops abound in this one. I can taste notes of hay and grass, farmhouse, leafy autumn evenings and freshly mowed lawns.
AgentSteve (784), Livermore, California, USA Sep 5, 2008 Pours a hazy deep caramel with a wild yeast funk nose and flavor in the front palate. Mid to finish it goes kind of weird and undescribable. A bit creamy on the palate. Thomas_E (5030), Copenhagen, Denmark Sep 5, 2008 Cloudy orange colour with a large white head. Hoppy, floral aroma with a light fruity note. Light caramel sweet flavor with floral notes and hints of fruit. SQNfan (437), Wheaton, Illinois, USA Aug 28, 2008 Batch #288/289: This poured a hazy caramel in color with a tall fluffy light khaki. The nose was nice and gave off lots of spice along with tart citrus and a touch of herb. Unfortunately this took a turn in the mouth as it was very blah. It was acidic but also lacking almost all flavor. What was there was earthy and funky with an odd and not so enjoyable odd (soapy? fishtank?) flavor. Definitely not my thing. Palidor19 (1279), Brandon, Florida, USA Aug 28, 2008 Smell and looks alright, its too funky in a bad way for me. The malts are too tangy and the rest of the flavor feels soapish.
not one for the casual drinker. nick76 (2031), Tampa, Florida, USA Aug 28, 2008 The aroma is funky and wild with tartness and sweetness. There is malt, hops, and wood. The appearance is amber with an ever foamy head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is thin. Overall I don’t like this one very much.
