Nice reddish amber color with an amazing sour and funky/woody aroma that is all wet barrel and cherry. Flavor is funky and complex with some pleasant bretty-sour-cherry notes mixed with lots of oak. Basically a really good batch of Roja - some are better than others and this is as good as any I’ve had. A must have for JP lovers! radiomgb (2070), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 22, 2009 Orange-amber in colour with a thin but lingering off-white head, light lacing. The aroma is fruity, bourbon, alcoholic, highly sweet with lots of candy, some ash. The flavour wasn’t as rich as I would have thought based on the aroma, lots of alcohol, light bourbon, moderate sweetness. Lightly sweet mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes a bit on the thin side with more sweetness and the ever present alcohol.
Not as good as I hoped that it would be, the thin body was a surprise. Didn’t have the usual Jolly Pumpkin funk.
355ml bottle obtained in a trade with zathrus13, thanks Jeff.

Pours a reddish brown with strong funk, cherries and oak. Flavors are more of the same, with tart cherry and the typical JP funk. La Roja is my favorite JP brew for regular drinking and this is even better. jarspag (600), Los Angeles, California, USA

Aroma ripped up upon opening...so potent. mmm. Tart, oaky, cherry. Flavor was just as spot on...very tart, cherry covered, some oak (no bourbon at all), nutty. This was damn delicious... made your eyes pop from such a robust flavor profile. Tingly, spot on carbonation...all around solid. Pretty epic. Thanks Joe... BOLTZ7555 (1121), Phoenix, Arizona, USA

Pours a hazy reddish brown with a small head. Aroma is sour, barrely, sugars, cidery. Flavor is la roja with a sour warhead kick, puckery lemons, fruits, really kicks it up a notch. Awesome stuff, thanks Paul.
