| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 29, 2007 Very fruity tart aroma,no mistaking the smell of oak, can’t pick up a single molecule of bourbon, surprising sour cider tartness dominates ,surprising given these are bourbon barrels it was aged in,oak still hanging around, again no whiskey to be found, a surprising and interesting beer, just don’t expect any whiskey TURDFERGUSON (1605), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 28, 2007 Bottle from sliffy. Thanks Dan! White label says: Oak Aged- 20 months. Batch 2 I think. Nose has a lot of oak, some cherries, apples, funky bacteria. Some really smelly dank shit that I love to stick my nostrils in. but not too far. Flavor is rather mellow, when compared to the tart aroma, with a lot of oak, some vanilla, and some muted sour fruit flavors. Rather disappointing really, I think this beer may be slightly oxidized. Oh well. Im over it. Well with this my only example of this beer, I have to say I like the regular La Rajo a million times better than this. This really lacks the sour intensity that la roja brings maybe that has something to do with age and maybe not. unsatisfying to say the least. oh well.
