Commercial Description:
La Roja, an artisan amber ale brewed in the Flanders tradition. Deep amber with earthy caramel, spice and sour fruit notes developed through natural barrel aging. Unfiltered, unpasteurized and blended from barrels ranging in age between two and ten months. Truly an ale of distinction.

750ml Bottle found at Beer Paradise in Holstebro. Dark amber color, huge creamy head. Fizzy when opened. Vinus aroma with oak and berries notes. Disguises the alcohol very nice. not my type fo beer but very nice nevertheless.

750ml bottle-pours a dissipating light tan head and hazy amber/brown color. Aroma is vinegar/tart fruit. Taste is vinegar/tart fruit-cherry, oak/grain, some medium malt. Not my style, but with cherry pie, nicer.

Bottle. High creamy and long lasting light brown head. Hazy orange red to brown body. Spicy fruity hoppy aroma with notes of alcohol. Complex flavor of mild fruits, rhybarb and cherries I think, and spices with low carbonation, fair amount of hops bitterness and a long bitter sweet aftertaste. Alcohol well hidden.

Pour is a murky brown with a average white head. Aroma is of red wine and vinegar with some tart cherry. Flavor is very tart with some red wine like qualities with a bit of cherry and other berry fruits. Finish leaves a wood smoke on the tounge but nothing over powering. I used to not care for sour ales but in the hands of the right brewer they can do amazing things.

Oozed upon opening. Red-amber color with a light, large-sized head, lots of lacing. Nose is acidic and slightly woody, berry fruit and caramel sweetness, dust, and coconut. The flavor is initially acidic and incredibly carbonated, but as it warms, sweet berries emerge to couple with dusty wood and strong yeast, cutting carbonation. Deliciously balanced and dry. Yum!

Still new to the sour GAYME. This was mighty nice and refreshing. A fun beer to drink and pick a part. The bottle is sexy as hell, and the beer is even sexier.

One of my favorites. Pours a very interesting color - looks like hazy carbonated molasses or maple syrup. Beyond carbonated in every case that I have partaken of this joyous beer. Aromas are of very light funk. No barnyard, just light sourness. Flavor is very light on the palate, extremely refreshing. A nice clean sourness accented with hints of various kinds of fruits (grapefruits and oranges come to mind) along with light oaking. Very well balanced and very refreshing. I would drink this beer any day, definitely an all-time favorite.
