batch 296/297...bottle sort of exploded on me, but that lead to a murky amber pour with a rock solid white head. aroma is tart and mildly horsey. wonderful tart flavor with a nice hop background. great bottle to share after a long day...

hazy and golden with nice thick white head. medium carbonation. a bitter and somewhat floral nose. flavor of belgian yeast with some hop bitterness, finishes with some citrus flavors from the grains of paradise with a bone dry finish and maybe some spiciness. subtlety is always the key to holly pumpkin brews and this is no different. i am not as keen on the grains of paradise, but a well crafted and unique brew

Good white head, nice lacing. Moderately sour, green apple, grapefruit. Finish is pretty dry and bitter, mostly grapefruit. The malt character is mixed w/ some barnyard-decent but not very good. Coriander. This beer has some sweet fruitiness to it as well.

Cloudy orange body with nice white head. Spicy aroma with a little bit of funk and a little bit of funk. The flavor is tangy orange peel and some pepper. Finishes rather dry and is very similar to Orval, but to a lesser degree. Pretty tasty beer.

Bottle, courtesy of Mcbackus. Pours a hazy amber/orange color with a thick, foamy white head. Gobs of white lacing coated the glass. Nose was fruity and sour. Medium bodied palate with a fair amount of carbonation. Flavor starts out really sour, like vinegar, but mellows out as the beer warms. Flavors of green apple, white grapes, orange peel, lemon, as well as many others I can,t put my finger on, are present. This is my fourth Jolly Pumpkin Ale and I must say, they are a complex. Loved it.

Bottle from tytoanderso, thanks bro! Poured a hazy golden-amber color with a thick, dense off-white head that left some good spotty lacing. Light funky aroma with some cobweb and barnyard, as well as some moderate spices (coriander and grains of paradise as described), some dry citrus fruit (orange peel, lemon), and a hint of floral hops. Tart, funky entry with some barnyard and cobweb-like yeastiness right up front transition into moderate fruitiness (orange, tangerine, and apricot) with a bit of coriander spice that finishes with a moderately bitter hoppiness with some lingering yeasty flavors. Moderate carbonation. Smooth with a moderate bite on the palate. More enjoyable than some of the other JP beers I have had.

GABF 08: Pretty clear golden color with a bubbly head. Sour, funky nose of white wine, fermenting plums and nectarines and just a fresh zesty aura. Tame fruity flavors with a somewhat grainy presence. Not remarkably sour yet just so in a fruity type of way.
