750 poured into a tulip. The aroma was perfume and coriander. The flavors were citrus, pepper, apple cider, and fresh bread. The finish was sweet apple cider and grapes. This beer was hoppy and refreshing with tons of fruit and spices. Jolly Pumpkin has been outstanding thus far... now I have to try them all.

Pours a golden color with a white head. Has nice lacing. Hints of sour fruits, spice, and wood. Finishes with a thin tart taste on the tongue. Courtesy of Dragonstout.

Great smelling brew, spices really take the lead here. Funky barnyard is also there, with an Orval like dryness and crisp hop finish.

Spicy sour aroma, corriander and some citrus. Pours pale amber with a thick white head. So good. Gentle hops, smooth sourness with good spices. So drinkable, i’m happy to finish the 750 all by myself! I love Jolly Pumpkin!

This Belgian Ale pours a deep orange gold color from a 750ml bottle. Large sized white foamy head, long lasting with lots of head retention. Aroma is citrus and spices, mostly orange with some hops and a touch of herbal. A medium to lighter bodied Belgian ale. Malts are fruity and not too sweet. Lots of spices, some yeast, must and barnyard. Dry and crisp, yet there is some sweetness. Lively carbonation. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is crisp and very dry. Aftertaste is a touch sweet with contrasts nicely with the dry finish.

750ml. Bottle $7.49 Binny’s Orland Luciernaga poured a hazed over orange into my tulip glass. There are many tiny carbonation bubbles rising from everywhere. A 3 finger white microbubbled head appeared on the pour that faded to a 2 finger rockiness. Leaves chunk lacing after each drink. Smell is dominated by spices but they are in no way overwhelming. I’m picking up clove and cardamom that are really nicely balanced. There is that summer field weediness and barn muskiness that are common in saisons. Very refreshing. There’s is much more malt in the flavor and the spices are more subdued. Nice malty sweetness with a twang on the finish. It’s all together spicy and herbal. Very nice. Saison like with a slight sourness and a little more malt backbone. Mouthfeel is light and lively. Dancing on the tongue. Finishes crisp and dry. Drinkability is very good. The spices are in no way overpowering. Dry and leaving me wanting more. The lower 6.5% ABV will let you enjoy more than one glass easily. The Firefly is an extremely goodbeer from Jolly Pumpkin. Definately worth a try if you see it. A nice little twist on a good saison. 1/21/07

(Rating #1037)
