Gorgeous black opaque pour with a medium size brown head. Looks perfect. Nose is chocolate and coffee and dark roasted malts and bitter hops, just like the commercial description ... and yet ... there is a disconcerting hint of sourness that is decidedly out of place. Taste is a shocker ... dark malts, sure, and coffee and chocolate aplenty ... and yet ... what is that sourness doing here? Who would put lemon juice in chocolate or coffee? Is this their usual hit of Belgian Bret? Is this a mistake ... a bacterial infection? Some sort of accidental lambification of a stout? I’m not going to finish this bottle ... Lambic stout? I may not finish this glass! Enjoyit (1745), Vadum, Denmark

A bit of the usual stout coffe and choclate experience but with a sour and licorice twist. Light considering the malty taste. cbkschubert (2007), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA

Lots of bitterness on the first sip, that gives way to sourness and roasted malt. Some chocolate, breadiness, but sour flavor dominates. Pretty good if not interesting. gottalottaibu (243), charlotte, North Carolina, USA
