The aroma is sweet with strong notes of chocolate as well as some notes of vanilla, and light notes of roasted malt. The flavor is sweet - and rather acidic - is it bret? but also with notes of wood as well as light notes of chocolate. Papsoe (15091), Frederiksberg, Denmark

Black and opaque with a tall and very lively head - it keeps on coming.... Sourish aroma with some roasted malt. Medium body with an extreme carbonation - unpleasantly so - roasted and lightly burned malt accents and a very distinct acidity. The bitterness is modest. I usually really dig the Jolly Pumpkin beers for their lovely Brett edge, but it simply doesn’t work in this one. The Madrugada Obscura simply comes out as an infected Stout, which isn’t a very good experience. 160607 yespr (12313), Copenhagen O, Denmark

Aroma is roasted malt, light wooden, burned and mild cherry sourish fruity. Solid sourness, roasted malt, dark chocolate, mild smoked infection note and distinct fruity base flavour to this. Lingering smoked infection into the finish. Another distinct infection like sour beer, tasty but somewhat murky flavour profile. Ends sharp citric to acidic with a lingering chocolate malt flavour. fonefan (11811), VestJylland, Denmark

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Mar 2, 2009 Near black with a super thick medium brown head. Roasty aroma with a peppermint phenol character. Both tart and roasty, and way too fizzy, with vague phenols. This really doesn’t come together at all. So much promise - you can tell there’s a good beer in here somewhere. But it fails to deliver. KimJohansen (7128), Copenhagen V, Denmark
