Jul 24, 2007 Draft-13th brew of Stone 1st Annual Sour Festival, July 22nd 2007. Shared this cool day very mellow day with bikesandbeer, wetherel, westsidethreat, padrefan, fordest, denverlogan and many others. Pours black with no head. The nose is sourish with a malty edge, an intriguing combo. Its actually a sour stout and its actually pretty tasty, blends sour tastes and malts as appropriate. Surprised me from what i’ve heard about regular madruga, guess i’ll have to finally crack that bottle in my fridge. Pretty damn good overall.

Jul 23, 2007 Tried from tap at Stone’s 1st Annual Sour Beer Tasting. Seemed well received. Curious to try, because it’s both sour and a stout, which is an odd combination. Pitch black color. Little head, but small bubbles. No overroasted grain notes, which is nice. A bit sweet, which is also nice. My palate was losing it’s way at this point, so this beer ended up nearer my average rating.

Jul 23, 2007 Black, amall head with lovely barrel aroma. Sour, dark malts, tropical sour fruit flavors. Tasted at Stone Sour fest July 22 on tap.
