Flavor of sour cherries and lite malt a light to medium bitter finsih. Full bodied with good carbonation. A beer that may have slipped into the sour ale side but I would buy a case if I could. Pretty damn special. nimbleprop (936), SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 10, 2008 Scored this gem during the Secret Santa in July 2008. Thanks Saint Nick! 750ml bottle (batch 254) pours a translucent maple brow with a thin white head and plenty of small, tight bubbles. Aroma is very sour, lemony, definitely some serious Brett, Belgian yeast and sticky, tropical fruits. Flavor is nice, very tart, cherries, oranges, a little grapefruit, white grapes. Very strong brettanomyces flavor components including that funky, band aid like flavor. Finish is a little chalky, medium bodied with extra carbonation. I enjoyed this alot, very unique. Reminded me a bit of a sour Flanders red ale. Wish I had more to cellar. JK (2961), Richfield, Minnesota, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 5, 2008 Cloudy brown color. Mild brett and roasted malt aroma. Good, thick palate. Some malt, and lightly sour. This is probably more of a saison or bier de garde than Belgian Strong, the ABV is too low, and there is too much wild yeast. Or maybe a dubbel. badgerben (3605), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 10, 2008 Courtesy of Stine. Murky copper color with a medium head. Aroma of tobacco and oak. Dry and rich malt taste, rounded out by some nuttiness. The sweet orange peel did not register, but the cinnamon provided some background spiciness. slimchill (781), Austin, Texas, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 19, 2008 Bottle. Brown-gold pour with a big white head. Cloudy and leaving amazing lacing. Pungent sharp sourness with cinnamon behind it. Opens with cinnamon into big barnyard-earthy funk. Finishes with deep bitter dark chocolate. Full-bodied and highly drinkable. The chocolate in the finish is a perfect contrast to the sourness. Masterfully-balanced like so many JP offerings. bb (2930), Martinez, California, USA

Cocoa, caramel, cinnamon/spice aroma with light citrus and light tartness. Tart, light citrus flavor with caramel turning to spice, malt, and some light stone fruit. Medium body. Spice, cinnamon and nutmeg linger with malt and tartness. Theis (3768), Denmark

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 28, 2008 Bottled. Hazy and amber coloured with a rather large white head. Quite malty with notes of orangepeel, cloves, cinnamon, cocoa, cherry, nuts and wood. Ok balanced and quite complex - maybe even a little confusing.
