| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 13, 2007 Nice brown pour with an off-white tan head - not a mega gusher (at least not this bottle) like alot of JP bottles (I decided to open a geyserish La Roja at the same time). Nice light bready aroma with cinnamon, spice, yeast, and some light fruit - a bit of citrus and some subdued summer fruit. Flavor is a nice cinnamon-orange-bread with a nice sweet-sour-bready sensation. Nice mouthfeel and a nicer tingly finish. Always a pleasure with JP. jrob21 (1271), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jul 9, 2007 Pours a clear reddish orange color with a decent offwhite head. Big aromas of grapefruit and some yeasty mustiness. Tastes a little of citrus and spice. Orange flavors are deep on the palate. A slight sweetness. Very nice sourish type beer. Perfect for this time of year. I’m digging this one. Stine (1380), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 9, 2007 A murky, glowing pool of mahogany. Sawdust aroma laced with butterscotch, chocolate and nectarine. A very unique take on sour taste, giving the impression of sucking fresh juice from a cacao dusted lemon. Fruits soaked in ginger. Vibrant swells of subtle texture in the mouth. Tart, dry, and alive with nuance - a fun one. Thanks Jason! waolsen (1223), Littleton, Colorado, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 8, 2007 bottle. dark copper/brown pour with frothy tan head. aroma is apple, cinammon, nutmeg, malty and nutty. tart but smooth, light but not watery. cinammon, nutty malts, a bit peppery, cherry and apple. lively and crisp. All JP’s that I’ve tried have a distinct cidery tartness that is unique to them. One that I enjoy. very nice brew. ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 26, 2007 This is so a flemish sour ale. Murky garnet and burgundy colored body with a small-bubbled tan and pink head. Faint but inviting sour brett and oak nose, with some dough and crackers and cedar wood scents. Exceptional smell to this beer, I’m amazed... I don’t want to stop smelling it. It tastes wonderfully vibrant and fresh, with cedar, yogurt and lactic acid the most dominant flavors, some oak and sour black cherries in the mix as well. A great recipe, and it’s made very well. sirpsycho (349), Murrysville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 25, 2007 Bottle. Poured a dark brown. Aroma was a little sour and earthy. Flavor was like aroma, sour, musty, it’s hard for me to get used to the sour / horse blanket thing that is always present in JP beers. Not what I was expecting from the bottle description. lilannie (383), State College, Pennsylvania, USA

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 22, 2007 A tad on the tart side, it was many flavors with spices, oranges and caramel. The taste gives a slight lemony aftertaste that embeds the beer a little bit. Alcohol is constant throughout
