Commercial Description:
A rich brown ale inspired by the enigmatic monastic brews of Belgium, and the mysterious mist shrouded jungles of the tropics. Brewed with real cacao, and spiced with cinnamon and sweet orange peel for a sensual delight. A brew to be sipped, savored, and enjoyed!

Pours brown, with a tan head. Aroma is malt, brown sugar and fruit. Flavors are slightly sour...fruit, malt, ans spices. Body’s a little thin. Not what I expected, but pretty good anyway.

Body is a foggy brown, with a nice tan head. Aroma is heavy brown sugar, a bit of yeast, alcohol, bit of chocolate also. Taste is a bit mettalic, with chocolate, caramel, cinnamon. Very solid beer.

750 bottle-pours cloudy dark amber/red with a small fizzy off-white head. Nose has that characteristic JP house yeast twang-sweet and citric with some light funk with some light woody notes. Is this one wood aged? It doesnt say so on the bottle, but Jefferies always barrel ages his stuff. Im guessing it is due to the woody nose. sweet malts here with nice sharp spices, light oakyness, toasted amber matls, and some light brett character. qutie complex and i cant really pinpoint the flavors going on here. Sharp carbonation, like most of JP’s beers (and true to the style), but still doesnt quite feel "great" in the mouth (ok that sounded really bad!). long finish of lingering lemon notes with light spices. I think this bottle maybe a year old, but i think that actually benefited the beer. Its quite complex and watch for some revisions to this rating over the course of the evening.

With every Jolly Pumpkin I have I appreciate the brewery more and more. Another knock out brew from them here. Pours dark reddish brown with a soapy tan head. The aroma is very spicy, barnyard / brett-like, along with lightly toasted malt underscore. Medium / light body with some unobtrusive sharp carbonation. This is listed as a dubbel here, but it sure taste like a biere de garde to me. It has the wild yeast taste and spicy brett character most Jolly Pumpkins have. There is also a mellow orange hint and toasted malt adding more smoothness that brings out a smooth fruity flavor. Also included are peppery spice and some citrus. Very smooth, crisp and refreshing. Big thanks to Beerdrenched for picking this up for me. Now I’m on a search to get another.

Another of their beers that just blew me away. The high carbonation brings out so much flavor, the spices, the orange peel, the light fruitiness. Nice sour finish that brings the refreshing factor up a kick. Just all around amazing flavor blend with a lightly sour finish.

750 ml bottle. Spicey and sour fermented aroma. Caramel body with tan fizzy head. Sour fruit aroma at first. More of a spicey bite in the middle and finsh. Sipping beer is right hard to gulp down something with a sour dominance and spicey bite on palate. Found some coffee grounds on the bottom of glass.

Cloudy brown caramel with very little head. Aroma is yeast and sweet over ripe fruits as is the flavor. Not bad.

(bottle - 750 ml) Murky brown color with a thick and puffy tan head that lasts and leaves good lacing. Aroma is very sweet and spicy with hints of cinnamon, chocolate, grass, and some orange zest. Flavor begins with a lot of fruity sweetness followed by a nice and subtle cocoa middle and a rather spicy finish. Aftertaste leaves a nice hint of chocolate mixed with orange peel and clove. Smooth and a little fizzy.
