Commercial Description:
A rich brown ale inspired by the enigmatic monastic brews of Belgium, and the mysterious mist shrouded jungles of the tropics. Brewed with real cacao, and spiced with cinnamon and sweet orange peel for a sensual delight. A brew to be sipped, savored, and enjoyed!

Bottle: Poured a dark brown with a red hue. The aroma was oak, cherry and a sour finish. Overall, one of my favorites so far from JP. This one is perfect to be sipped on a cold winter’s day.

Bottle (750ml). Shared with blankboy, biegaman and garthicus - acquired TWENTY-NINE months ago from kmweaver. Cloudy ruby, large creamy/frothy beige head - slow gusher too. Dry, funky-sour aroma, burnt malt, sour fruit ("spoiled" as biegaman says), wow that’s a lovely sour. Taste is very dry, very spicy, and overwhelmingly sour/burnt - God that’s good shit. Lively, acidic, long-finishing sour roasty finish

Oct 06 bottle! Thanks to HogTownHarry: Appearance: Cloudy cherry red, small off white head. Aroma: Juicy cherry; sour, yeast, apples, awesome! Flavour: Wow, cherry, tobacco, sweet, citrus, bitter, such a lovely beer, nice long dry finish.

Bottle as shown, sampled in Montreal. Pours a brown body with light brown head. Aroma is tart, JP style, some orange and salt in the taste with nice carbonation. Had olde lambic characteristics.

Not sure how I haven’t tried this beer yet. Poured brown with a fluffy white head. Aroma was of sweet orange with a hint of funk. Taste was much the same, quite a bit of sweet orange in there, some oak, other light fruits and a bit of spice. Very interesting and satisfying brew.

750ml bottle. Brutally sour brew. i like the carbonation level, but the taste is hard to deal with. one part too sweet one part too sour. will not get again.

Bottle. Foamy gusher. Slow oozing gusher. Dark brownish red body with a thick lasting foamy khaki head. Nose-unsweet apple juice, funk, cherry mash, raw oak. Taste-light Tootsie Roll, chocolate covered cherry, low acid, good mix of fruit esters, wood, and tartness, apple skins, white grape, not too acidic or biting, light dryness. All in all, very enjoyable. All of the individual elements come together very well.
