Not sure how I haven’t tried this beer yet. Poured brown with a fluffy white head. Aroma was of sweet orange with a hint of funk. Taste was much the same, quite a bit of sweet orange in there, some oak, other light fruits and a bit of spice. Very interesting and satisfying brew.

750ml bottle. Brutally sour brew. i like the carbonation level, but the taste is hard to deal with. one part too sweet one part too sour. will not get again.

Bottle. Foamy gusher. Slow oozing gusher. Dark brownish red body with a thick lasting foamy khaki head. Nose-unsweet apple juice, funk, cherry mash, raw oak. Taste-light Tootsie Roll, chocolate covered cherry, low acid, good mix of fruit esters, wood, and tartness, apple skins, white grape, not too acidic or biting, light dryness. All in all, very enjoyable. All of the individual elements come together very well.

Cloudy brown with big, foamy tan head / Typical JP nose of tart orchard fruit, caramel, and brett / LIght body with some chewiness, moderately tart and acidic, dry, with excellent long finish / Complex , balanced flavors of green apple, cherries, cocoa, caramel, oak, cinnamon, and funky brett / Another great offering from the gods of funky sour ales.

Another JP beer filled with excitement that upon opening reveals yet another bretty surprise. In any event, I delved deeper into the meanders of this JP beer. Pours orange / amber with thick beige head. Aroma had some very faint traces of cocoa that was once again hidden by the onslaught of brett covering pretty much everything else that could have been enjoyed. Taste some funk and brett with very light spices mostly of cinnamon as well as cocoa. The overall chocolate mouthfeel became more noticeable as the beer gained room temperature. one could even notice traces of the oak. A good enjoyable beer, but by all means stop covering all the aromas with a flood of brett.

Bottle, courtesy sebletitje. Pours a tea-colored amber copper color, with a huge puffy white head and thick lacing on the glass. Nose of brett, tart notes, cinnamon, some dark fruits. Nice funkiness, brett, barnyard, creamy chocolate is distant, spicy body, very nice. Creamy crisp smooth bright body, so drinkable. Nothing new from this brewery but still good.

Batch 254, 2007. Pours hazy brown with giant off-white head and some yeast chunkies. Bottle was a bit of a gusher. Not as sour as the rest of the lineup, some chocolate powder, orange, and some spicy phenolics. Nice roasted malt flavor, dark bread, excellent lacing. This is pretty good.
