| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 3, 2009 Bottle from Knightly Spirits. Batch #349. This bottle was a gusher and I couldn’t get it to stop for quite a while. This poured a typically massive head that is commonplace for JP brews and a murky brown color. The nose is sour yeast and dough. Flavors are coppery, full of sour Brett, and include subtle spices like cinnamon, apples, and evergreen. Quite malty with a bit of vinegar character. Lively carbonation and medium body. Good beer.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 18, 2009 hazy amber, light brown head. Bottle was a real gusher, stopped foaming over when only 1/4’th beer was left in the bottle, so a quick pour is neccesary.
mild sourish aroma dominates, some sweetness beneath probably from cocoa and spices.
flavor is sourish, faint citrussy, sweet from cocoa and quite spicy. it’s a strange battle between sour and sweet, and the spices adds a third dimension. anyway, i only partially like the flavor but it’s quite interesting. starts quite sour, then comes the cocoa, then the spices, and then it ends orange peely bitter Beerman6686 (1292), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Dec 16, 2009 This one poured a murky lighter brown color with a huge beige head, almost gushing actually. Aroma was some residual sweetness, funk, and sour notes. Flavor was very strange to my taste buds, a clashing mixture of tartness and nuttiness, mixed up with random spices. To me this is one of those beers where the sum of the parts is greater than the product as a whole. Pipper (261), Ohio, USA

Pours a dark amber, smell and flavor seem very similar to a lambic (light a bit tart) instead of a belgian strong. Great stuff. hbmason (34), Succasunna, New Jersey, USA

Very pleasant sweet aroma with hints of cinnamon, pumpkin, and malt. Taste is sweet with a little bitterness to balance it out. Maybe even a little sourness toward the end of the drink. Palate is full and fills the mouth with taste. Overall nice balance of sweet, spicy. and sour. madmitch76 (645), , Essex, England

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 1, 2009 Bottle, 75cl. Pours an unclear brownish beer with a big offwhite head. The aroma is spices with some acidity. The flavor is complex and spiced. The palate is very special, and the aftertaste changes over time. Overall this beer is strange and has some very odd flavors.
