Much darker than expected with bright aromas of citrus and Granny Smith apple. Minimal oak influence...with the majority of flavors reminiscent of the typical sour (lemon rind, barnyard funk, and a huge Brett focus). A bit thin compared to others in the style. Tasty but not exceptional.

Bottle. A dark amber beer with a big tan head. The aroma and taste is sour and acid and of wood and dark fruits. Medium body with a mellow soft raisin and wood finish.

Bottle. Blend 3, I believe. Sent to me in a trade by iowaherkeye. Thanks Joey! Last beer of the night friday night at shenandoah. Pour was dark brown with a thick tan lace. Nose had some typical JP funk amidst spices, oak, some dark fruits.

Blend 3 from southbay. Dark brown pour with thick tan head and thick lace. Tart fruit with a touch of spice. It is the perfect amount of spice blended well with the oak

The aroma was full of dark fruit, allspice, a little nutmeg and light roast. The beer poured a thick cloudy brown color with very thick lasting head and light lace. The flavor was fruity, allspice, light clove, nutmeg, and plums. The mouthfeel was medium to full bodied with a lot of carbonation.

ughh...im tired of JP"s beers...deep chesnut body/brownish red with minimal head..aroma is, as usual, much more pronounced and enjoyable that the flavor..very flemish-like, with hints of vinegar, raspberry, sour funk and must...oaky flavor with unpleasant hints of wet socks..like you are harboring a damp basement in your mouth...somewhat offensive..stone, slate, chalk...who wants that? I am starting to wonder why this brewery is so well-regarded...

Bottled at Papsoes Blind tasting 19th. June 2008 no 23: Amber coloured. Unclear. Off white dense head. Brett, light caramel, light sourness and light wood in the aroma. Flavour is sweet, has vanilla, light barrel and spice in it. Meidum bodied. Dry. Citric, sweet and quite barrelish end. Nice.

(Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of FlacoAlto. Clear amber golden with a dense and lively lacing beige head. Tart Brettish aroma. Medium body, a little low in carbonation. Fruit and woody accents but also an astringet phenolic finish, that isn’t overly pleasant. 190608
