jimmack (1210), Nutley, New Jersey, USA Apr 4, 2008 Bottle thanks to Dickinsonbeer? Hazy mahogany color with a small beige head. Funky, fruity aroma of tart cherries, light brett and a bit of vanilla. Flavor was a mildly tart combination of green apples, cherries and grapes with some oak, vanilla and a touch of pepper.
Another really nice beer from JP.
paiste2002 (16), Saugus, California, USA Aug 28, 2008 Hazy dark ruby in color with an big tan head
great lacy as well. Aroma of dark caramel dark fruit, with an underlaying essence of sour green apple. Flavor is of caramel, raisins, plum, spice, typical Jolly Pumpkin funkiness that I enjoy. Finish is sour/tart long. Great beer and thankfully as of this review date I still have 5 bottles. AmEricanbrew (919), Left Coast, Louisiana, USA Aug 23, 2008 Bottle blend 4, 2007. Hazy garnet with a frothy light tan head. JP house funk/wood aroma with dry hay, lemon, and dark caramel. Frothy mouthfeel with a light to medium body. Good flavors of seered dark caramel, sour oak, and tart lemon; the oak blends nicely with the funk and alcohol. Has a dry yeasty oak finish. Good choice for a winter brew. BOLTZ7555 (447), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Aug 14, 2008 Much darker than expected with bright aromas of citrus and Granny Smith apple. Minimal oak influence...with the majority of flavors reminiscent of the typical sour (lemon rind, barnyard funk, and a huge Brett focus). A bit thin compared to others in the style. Tasty but not exceptional. sk8viking (6078), Copenhagen, Denmark Aug 6, 2008 Bottle. A dark amber beer with a big tan head. The aroma and taste is sour and acid and of wood and dark fruits. Medium body with a mellow soft raisin and wood finish. TURDFERGUSON (1125), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA Jul 15, 2008 Bottle. Blend 3, I believe. Sent to me in a trade by iowaherkeye. Thanks Joey! Last beer of the night friday night at shenandoah. Pour was dark brown with a thick tan lace. Nose had some typical JP funk amidst spices, oak, some dark fruits.
