Pour is cloudy yellow with a fizzy white. Smell is tart and sweet and lightly funky. Taste is similar with dry, dusty oak and lightly peppery spiciness and mild hop bitterness. A bit of a light citrusy flavor almost as well. I always have a difficult time describing Jolly Pumpkin beers, and this was no exception, however I did seem to like this a bit more than most others from them that I’ve had.

On tap at the MBG summer fest 08’. Nice nose, funky and floral, with some oak coming through. Flavor is tart up front, some more oak, citrus, a sweet backbone, lemon. Very enjoyable.

Taste 7/8 Bottle (Batch 217) Looks: Nice orange cream body with white fizz. Aroma: sour lambic quality. Spicy and floral hops. A little sweet fruit juice. Taste: Nice. Good carbonation. Lots of tastes. Creamy, spicy, fruit, orange peel, light cask astringency. sour and tart. Non alcoholic. Must and yeast. Good.

750 ml bottle. Pour is a hazy light orange with a fluffy white head that sits around 2 fingers or so. Aromas are sour and funky (surprise) with a kind of grassy note to them. At the same time, they’re a little underpowered. Flavor is very tart and acidic with some oak type background music and a pretty obvious alcohol presence. I was kind of hoping for a nice sour of some sort tonight, but for some reason this one just isn’t resonating.

Pours a hazy pale gold with a two finger creamy light orange head. The nose is spicy, tart and citrusy, lemongrass, oak comes through a lot. The flavor is spicy, very tart citrus, lemongrass, oaky and vanilla. Nice spicy tart mouthfeel. Very nice Belgian ale.

The color was cloudy lemon yellow. The head was thin, creamy, and white. The aroma was tart, acidic, and lemon. The flavor was spice, tart, lemon, and earthy. The palate was slick. The finish was tart.

750 ml bottle. pours a golden color with a thick white head. nice peppery and spicy aroma. solid medium body with the pepper making the biggest presence up front and on the finish. Spice, a touch of hops and some sourness as well. The oak comes through just a bit. Very saison like.. and very easy to drink.

A truly fantastic looking beer in the glass with the milky white beer on top of a golden swirl of murky deliciousness. Lemon undertones in the aroma that came through in spades on the tongue washing down in a pleasantly refreshing way. Although this beer was a little bit pricey ($7+ for the litre), it is a wicked summer session beer that would NO DOUBT be awesome off the tap. The only downfall keeping it out of the 4 range was that it was a little bit simple, or one dimensional. I had just finished exercising before I poured this baby, and WOW it hit me like a sledghammer completely satifying all needs. Cheers
