Bottle - 750ml. Pale gold body with low carbonation and a huge, lasting white foamy head. Strong hoppy aroma with fruity hints. Sharp hoppy taste that carries herbal and fruity notes. Ends with a long and robust bitter/sour finish. Very close to the Lambic style.

Bottle from the First Houston Tasting
Pours cloudy yellow with yeast strains frolicking amongst the golden reeds of, um, stuff. A rush of lemon and hay greets the olfactory sense. Flavor is a straight-up, mouth-puckering lemon. Mouthfeel offers fullness and fantasticity (trademark on that word if not already done). Fantastic beer.

Cloudy orange brown color with large, dense, white head. Aroma of spice, orange, citrus, earthy/dirty, very dry. Flavor is earthy citrus like an overly ripe orange, some pepper, some hop, slightly tart, port winey, oaky, sooo good. Medium to full creamy body. I always forget how good these JP beers are until I have them, I guess it’s hard to remember that I don’t have to go that far to get something really well done.

Went to the store to pick up a few new things. Wanted to get something sour, but couldn’t really find anything that got me excited. The entire time this beer was staring me in the face. Sometimes I can be a dumbass. 750ml bottle. Pours a gorgeous golden orange color with a rocky, 2 finger sized white head. Head is mostly diminishing, leaving a topping of bubbles and impressive lacing. Nose of lemons, pears, oranges, apples, grass, barnyard, Brettanomyces, barnyard, funky yeast and some peppery notes. Interesting that I don’t get any oak in the aroma at all. Smells almost like it could pass for a Gueuze if served blind. Very nice balance of fruit and sourness in the flavor. Lactic acid, banana, cloves, candied sugars, funky yeast and pepper all vie for full attention. Finally get some sense of the oak, really smooths everything out without being obtrusive. High, lively carbonation, medium astringency. Smooth palate, dances on the tongue. Finish really pushes the hops to the front, a nice kick of bitterness comes into play. Also some nice acidic sour notes and more funky yeasts are present. Very end of the finish is bone dry. Got even better as it warmed. Truly a great beer from a world class brewery.

Shared a bottle with my brother-in-law at Thanksgiving. Poured a huge white head, very nice lacing afterwards. Slightly sour fruit aroma, apples, grapefruit, slight hops and a light maltiness. What it promised with the nose, it delivered in the flavor. All of the above, plus the funk came through and a spicy yeast flavor. It was carbonated just right, and the aftertaste was great. That was fantastic. Plus, my brother-in-law loved it and it was his first sourish beer.

750 ml bottle shared at Houston Beer Tasting. Pours a very cloudy yellow with little white head. Some lacing. Nice aroma of fruit and spice with some Belgian-style yeast. Taste is sweet and sour with citrus fruit and yeast. Medium body with some carbonation. Really enjoyed this beer.

Bottle. Yellow-orange pour with abig white head. Aroma of light sour/funk, subtle fruit, pale malt and yeast. Flavors of barnyard, vinous fruit, and sourness. Light body with a lively carbonation, sour with a dry/sour finish.

Bottle. Yeasty with citrus. Hoppy and bitter and very spritzy. Flavours are yeasty with bitter lemon. Resinous in its hops with yet more yeast and bitter lemon following. The USA Duvel.
