Bottle. 1 Pint 9.4 FL. OZ. Murky, golden yellow color with frothy, white head and yeast particles settling at the bottom of the glass. Light hoppy, grapefruit aroma. Fair amount of carbonation. Flavor is very tart, with a dry, bitter finish.

Sparkles in the glass. Color of pale straw with a strong white bubbly head. The nose is sour and spices with a hint of something sweet and fruity in the background. Very effervescent in my mouth, the flavor is just as promised, spicey and sweet with a clean, sour finish. Great summer beer.

Bottle: Pours golden with a frothy white head that is mostly lasting leaving nice lacing. Yeasty aroma has hints of some spices and lemon. Flavor starts sweet and spicy leaving a peppery tingling on the dry finish. Refreshing!

750 bottle that exploded everywhere. Pour is a hazy gold with a creamy white head. Aroma of lemon, orange, floral spice, pepper, and yeast. Taste is spicy fruit, orange peel, lemon, tart, oak, and pepper. Overly carbonated and fizzy. JP is awesome.

White pepper, lemon, yeast and orange-peel aroma; sweet and musty with pilsy maltiness; earthy hops and sweet Reisling grape notes; prickly palate. Just OK.

From a capped 750 ml. bottle with a short blurb along the right side of label, no freshness date, sampled at cellar temperature in a tulip glass. Poured a cloudy bright yellowish orangey golden with a small foamy, tiny bubble topped white head that settled into a thin sudsy lacing. Aromas of spicy, musty cheese yeastiness, citric fruitiness, lemons, oranges with a touch of honey peach, floral, sweet grainy malts and traces of woody alcohol. Good, if not slightly fizzy, carbonation and a crisp, dry, tart, would have more smoothness if a tad less carbonated, medium bodied mouthfeel. Tastes of musty, spicy yeast, earthy spice and clove, a honey graininess, tart citric fruitiness, lemons and orange rind, herbal floral hops with the softest of bitterness, a subtle woodiness from the oak that meshes with the alcohol that provides a slow, steady warmth in the palate, and a dry yeasty, sour fruity, malty finish. A pleasant sipper, another very enjoyable ale from Jolly Pumpkin, well worth trying.

750 bottle. Recent batch (rectangle label). Purchased at Ye Old Spirit Shop in Frederick, Maryland. Huge white head poured atop a glowing yellow body. Amazingly musty and citrus-fruity nose full of peppery spices, rum scents and sour, perfumy floral lemons. Oily, thick, crisp and lightly sweet up front, bubbly and champagne-like, moldy and sour without being too musty. Full of lively, lightly acidic, the sourness and pungency is incredibly alluring. I find Jolly Pumpkin more and more to be one of my favorite breweries.
