Bottle purchased at Spuyten Duyvil: My first from the hyped Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales and it didn’t disappoint. Hazy golden color, tart with a bit of spice and citrus, bubbley. I’d love to try this aged.

MJy first Jolly Pumpkin, so when this will give me my first impression of this company. Pours a crystal clear gold that sparkles and bubbles rapidly. Head is a fizzy foam patch but stays complete for a long period of time without a sign of retreat. The nose creates a sour green apple aroma and also holds some malt. The drink is an over carbonated apple cider type of flavor. Quite sour with a note of the brewers own yeast.

Pours a cloudy orangish hue, after brewfiend cleaned up the half of the bottle that exploded all over the counter. Nice nose of citrus, barnyard, and a little hint of sweet. The flavor is nicely balanced and exudes loads of citrus, especially grapefruit. A nice finish that clears the palate and leaves with a nice peppary mouthfeel.

At least half of this bottle exploded over the counter, much to joebrew’s amusement. The remnet poured a hazy honey color, with very little foam left over from the explosion. The nose was an earthy sourness to it while the body had hints of Belgian yeast and an intense tarteness. The beer had a warming effect I usually reserve for a good scotch, which was a nice surprise.

Bottle Pours a hazy light golden color witha huge foamy white head and chunky lacing. Slightly hoppy, spicy sweet aroma with classic Belgian yeast notes as well. Flavor was orange zest, spices and sweet hops. Dry and tart but not overly so. Nice flavor combinations and balanced over all. Very lively carbonation and a dry clean finish. This makes be like this style. Tasty !

Bottle: Heavy carbonation and a hazy blond color with plenty o lacing and head. The nose is sweet with hops, spice and coriander. The flavor is nice and hoppy with a sweet zesty coriander and orange peel notes. Lots of yeast and tart hops too. Excellent balance with a firm thumb on the BdG style. Who’d have thought, from Michigan?

A gusher! Not so bad as Luciernaga... at least I had the good sense to open this up over the sink after the last JP incident... Pours a hazy cloudy golden with a big foamy head, duh, it’s a gusher. The nose is lightly sweet, vinegar tart with some apples, wheat, and a bit creamy with some light floral hops. A little Belgianness and a hint of pine. Creamy and smooth in the mouth, nice. The flavors are bold. That Belgian tartness is here in the light dry fruity sweetness. Apples, vinegar, and some woody notes ranging from pine to oak. Creamy, the finish is fruity with apples. The aftertaste becomes tarter still, with hints of pine sneaking in. A nice dry beer. Enjoyable.
