Bottle at JW77’s July 4th bash. Pours a cloudy yellow color. Nice frothy head. This has a lot of earthy funk in the nose. Some woody notes, lemons, and some spices. Flavor is dry and tart with some good funk. Hops are noticeable. Woody flavor. Fun beer.

Into pint from bottle at The Winking Lizard. Pours a darker lemonade color with minimal white head and some lacing. Dy but clean finish, slightly carbonated. Fruity and citrusy hops on the nose and in the taste but not overwhelming. Alcohol is up front not so hidden. Refreshing brew.

Possibly the best of the style I have had. I just love the silky bloom in the mouth, the earthy and spicy pepprcorn, the toasty malt, and lingering yeast. I keep looking for more of this locally, but it is a tough bottle to pull.

Golden colored with a hint of amber with a huge clumpy white head. Not an all out gusher but still foamed like crazy in the bottle after opening and took some effort to control it. Aroma shows citrus fruits (pears), spicy notes, flowers, yeast and it’s rather strong. Flavors are tart and sour, apples, grapes, pears, grass, funk, dry and a sharp sour taste in the finish. Maybe some lingering oak but not much. This is a very good beer although I’ll take some of their lighter offerings such as Bam Biere over this one.
