Acidity in the nose, vinegar plus oak and overripe fruit. Medium body with some caramel, oak and vanilla - both sweetness and acidity. The finish is dry and tart. Delicious indeed. 290407 Ungstrup (15380), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 1, 2007 Bottled. An unclear amber beer with a lazing orange head. The aroma is sweet and very fruity combined with lighter notes of brettanomyces and some acidity. The flavor is sweet and at the same time rather acidic from brettanomyces, combined with strong notes of fruit - especially peaches, leading to a dry bitter end. Grovlam (3810), Copenhagen, Denmark

[Many thanks to Sk8viking for sharing this one] Small creamy beige head that mostly diminished. Hazy Chesnutt color. Spar lacing. Again the Brett can immediately be felt. Notes of grapefruit, elderflower, liquorish, caramel, wood, fruit and berries. Medium to full bodied with a soft carbonation. Moderated sweet malty flavor with some sour vinegar and hint of hoppy bitterness. Sour light dry finish. Again an impressive beer from Jolly Pumpkin! madsberg (5055), Søborg, Denmark

Sweetness, light fruits and some berries in the aroma. Subdued and very light vinegar notes. Flavour as well has this subdued vinegar sourness. Light woodnotes and frutis. Is a bit bland just after the Biere de Mars. Medium bodied. Has a light sour and grapish end. Terminus (1955), Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA

WOW, now this is definately the best jolly pumpkin i have had to date. pours deep orange with a small soapy off-whie head. this one is definately oakey, but thats a good thing! some nice fruits here as well-grapes, melons, and lite tartness. flavors are definately woody, nice sourness and with some tart juicy grapes. palte is medium with soft carbonation, not the typical JP beer here for shure! very complex and tasty! i could go on an on about this one. I wish i had a bottle to myself. HUGE thanks to vyvvy for sharing! he is a noble man of high standard! CaptainCougar (5521), Rockville, Maryland, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 17, 2007 Pours a hazy dark copper orange with a dense, frothy light tan head, with some thin wispy-lacing. Big, complex, lightly caramely malty sweet with fresh woody oak and complex tart, funky light fruity notes. Body starts smooth, full-bodied, complex, lightly sweet and balanced with good semi-tart oaky fruit. Finishes slightly thinner, crisp and tart with lingering fresh earthy oaky notes. A very nicely balanced and enjoyable beer. kramer (2484), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 16, 2007 25 oz bottle, via sliffy. Pours a slightly hazy dark copper colored body under a fairly small (by JP standards) fizzy beige head that retained as a thin film. Aroma is quite funky with a sugary gueuze-like character. Light bourbon, oak, some sturdy caramel malt, and a light brett undercurrent. The flavor is quite an odd combo. Lots of bretty funk with light bourbon, oak tannins, toasted and caramel malts, and a hint of alcohol. Finishes quite dry and crisp with a lingering brettyness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a fairly thick texture up front and a crisp dry finish. Nice lively spritzy pinpoint carbonation. I really liked this one alot, it took the heavy bourbony edge off of the La Roja, and added some heft compared to the Bam Biere. Blending is good.
