Metro tasting. Huge huge thanks to Jeff for busting this out. I have been dying to try this one. Poured a dark golden color. Aroma was light fruits and light sour funk. Taste was golden malt, light funk, light bodied fruit with a dry finish. Not nearly as acidic as other JP reserves I have had. I am guessing this one is starting to fade a bit. Still quite tasty. Thanks again Jeff.

Sampled from bottle, courtesy northernbrews. Hazy amber color, sparse white head. Nice sour aroma that stays just short of briny, some sweeter fruit characters in the back. Smooth and grainy taste, the sour more moderate than anticipated. Very nice.

Rating #2300. Bottle courtesy of Styles. When pouring the beer into the glass could smell the sour aroma without putting nose to glass. Also has a wet wood barrel aroma. Orange body with beige head. Sour flavor and in the mix is wet wood and sweet fermentation candy to it. Smooth on the palate. Due to age seems to have lost a little zip in the sour and tart factor. An enjoyable brew!

Bottle, courtesy of northernbrews and redlight! Pours a ruddy amber, creamy frothy off-white head, some lacing. A soft funk on the nose, a touch of tartness, fruit, barrel, and some vanilla. In flavor caramel, a soft tartness, tannins, puckering, La Roja with more barrel (but not an increased tartness). Restrained acidity compared to more recent JPs with extended barreling and perhaps showing its age as there is a slight softness to it overall. Very glad to get to try this!

Thanks to Northernbrews. Pours an orange color with a musty fruit aroma. Flavors are bitter lemon with some caramel and funk. Lots of signature JP sourness. Delicious.

Thanks to Northernbrews for hooking it up!!!!!!! i’ve almost tried this beer twice always missing it by a few minutes just staring at the empty bottle!! Big oak, pineapple, sour cherries, vanilla and eathy funk. Pours cloudy orange with a thin white head. Tart funkiness upfront, followed by smooth vanilla, tart citrus, kumquats, orange peel, with tart strawberries. Man this good, i love this brewery so much!!

Another awesome JP from northernbrews at the C&P Throwdown. Pours a super cloudy caramel color. Super thick foam ring head that stays for the duration. Nose is big with lots of wood and apple and cherry. Some sourness on the nose but nowhere near what I was expecting. Taste is a little watery perhaps because any hops from the Bam Biere blended would be long gone by now and to be frank I dunno when this was bottled. Quite tartly sour up front with no vinegar, lots of apple and cherry in the middle and finishes with a very woody note and a shot of acidic sourness. Apple and cherry skin flavor lingers in he mouth. Amazing but not as good as La Roja Reserve.

Bottle from the Otown throwdown. Cloudy brown with an off white head. Aroma is sour apple jolly ranchers, leather and funk. Flavor is a bit thin but has some nice yeast, meat and funk mixed with some fruitness.
