| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 11, 2009 750ml bottle. Pours clear copper with a white head. Nose is intense white wine grapes, musty barnyard lacto and pedio... horseblanket, leather, olive oil, red apple skins... intense, beautiful. Body is oily up front, big, full, chewy, syrupy... then a medium acidity, some oily and tart olives, canola, that sort of thing. Finish is herbal tarragon, black pepper, roasted pears, prickly and tannic oak... awesomely strange stuff. Tmoney99 (4783), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 3, 2008 Draft sample at MBGF Summer08. Poured hazy orange amber with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy tart fruit, sour citrus, earthy and woody aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture. Medium to heavy sour flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations where met with a better version of this JP brew. The aroma has notes of funky brett, oak, sour grapes and cherry, dusty yeast and floral esters. The taste has a nice sour punch, acidic and oaky. There is an overlying yeast driven note about this and some herbal tones about the finish. The mouth feel is refreshing and soft. A nice brew and better than the La Roja Kriek I had before it. Pours orange with a tan ring. Nose is very sour, and very tart, quite nice. Taste is hot on the front end, but not an issue, mellows out and gets sour funky and very nice with lots of complexity and flavor. BMan1113VR (2940), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 24, 2009 Huge thanks to AmEricanbrew! Pours with a small white head over a hazy amber body. Aroma of wet wood, wine barrel (red wine), caramel and a hint of vinegar. Taste is caramel, lightly tannic and light bitter with some vinegar, brett and florals. Not super sour, but beautifully balanced and easy to drink. Light bubbles. Great. Pailhead (2606), Allen Park, Michigan, USA

Bottle: The aroma consists of apple, oak, lemon, and vanilla. It pours a transparent amber with some sediment and a small off-white head. The flavor starts with sour apple up front. It finishes with modeate vanilla and faint oak. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. kramer (2510), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 24, 2009 25 oz bottle. Pours a cloudy orangish amber body with a very small fizzy off-white head that faded very quickly. Lots of visible carbonation. Very funky nose, lots of brett and a little bit of sweaty feet and horse blanket. Oak, light apple cider vinegar, and some lighter sweet caramel maltiness. The flavor is very dry, slightly tart, with a restrained acidity. Lots of JP house character here, prominent oak, light cider vinegar, and some vanilla. Mouthfeel is dry and mouth puckering with a lingering funk laced finish. This was a nice one, it stands up to the best of American Wild Ales out there.
