750mL Bottle. Interesting fruit and funk nose. Very unique blend of citrus and wildness fruit. Coconut juice, sweet almonds, and passionfruit. Very tropical, fresh and amazing. Heavily clouded orange-amber, with a golden fringe and a white rim. Flavor develops strongly. Start mild and unassuming in cobweb wildness, but then explodes into a crazy bamboo spice and subtropical fruit flesh. Oak doesn’t annoy me as much as it often does. Alcohol is a little prickly, doesn’t feel warm, but does blow into the nostrils. Tart and puckery. Strongest citrus presentation of all the JPs I can think of. Calabaza showing through? Nice clean funk. Dry. Palate is great. Lots of unique texture, not much sweetness and an acidity that is good for drinking. Long pickled citrus rind finish. Great. One of the best, all around. 750 via trade with sephiroth, brought to Toncatcher’s tasting in Santee. Pours orange with a tan ring. Nose is very sour, and very tart, quite nice. Taste is hot on the front end, but not an issue, mellows out and gets sour funky and very nice with lots of complexity and flavor.

tried at Another Santee Sampling. this time at toncatcher’s house. Bottle from WeeHeavySD. Thanks Jon! My favorite of the night. Awesome!!!! Cloudy amber color. Medium bubble head. Lots of nice funky sourness. A little acetic vinegar acidity. Easy to drink. A hint of sweetness. Excellent!

Beerlando is now my best friend for sharing this. Great beer. Slight red wine smell with some lemons and the signature Jolly Pumpkin funk. Taste has a lot of La Roja influence with the sour funk leading the way and some slight spice in the background. There is a great balance in the flavors and the oak from the aging.

Bottle from WeeHeavySD, thanks Jon. Pours slightly amber with off-white head. Aroma of sourness and funk, oh yes. Flavors were sour but not over the top with somw sweetness.

750 ml bottle shared at toncatcher’s tasting. Sourness and some barrel flavors on the aromas. Even more tart of the flavor with and acidic finish. Good Good stuff.

750ml bottle, thanks Jeremy! Pours a tepid orange/amber with a soapy white ring. Sour and really oaky on the nose, with a definite quality of fermenting apples. Oak and sourness abound in the mouth. Especially sour near the back, but really quite dry. More apples. Some residual sweetness and a tropical fruit presence like coconut creeps in on the finish. Very nice. Prickly sourness throughout, but not at all abrasive. This is probably the best Jolly Pumpkin beer Ive had. A really delicious treat, and Ill probably never have it again.
