Commercial Description:
The fourth in our Bam Farmhouse series, and perhaps our most adventurous; a traditional farmhouse style hefeweizen. Weizen Bam seamlessly blends traditional German style hefeweizen yeast with our own local wild and sour cultures, for a melange of the most flavorful sort. Ruddy golden, with yeast driven esters of banana, spicy clove, and nutmeg all wrapped up with a generous dose of good-natured rapscallion delight.

Bottle: Poured a light golden color ale with a large pure white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of tart notes is dominating with some light funky notes as well. Taste is also dominated by light sour notes with some tartness and some funky barnyard-like notes. Greta carbonation with a medium-full body. Very well done with some great balance and easily drinkable.

Bottle secured for me by JCB. Thanks so much for obtaining and cellaring this beer for me, Jason! Shared with Jason, Ethan, and Bob. Pours a light, very cloudy yellow with a frothy white head. Nose has a very refreshing light bitterness couple with a funky wheat and refined earthiness. Flavor is lemon, more tart wheat, slight bitterness in finish. Delicious. This is my kind of hefeweizen...I could drink this all day long.

Bottle shared with Turd, Ethan, and JCB. Bright light cloudy yellow pour with big frothy white head... really beautiful to observe. Subtle flavors all around, which I found delicious. Reminded me of something like Dupont Saison as much as a a hefeweizen. Bitter lemon peel, citrus, light yeast and floral notes. Got a bit of pineapple and tropical fruits. Lemongrass. Great crisp bitter finish.

Thanks turd for sharing. Pours a pale, almost white brew with a two finger frothy white head. The nose is wheaty, sour, earthy, lemongrass, funkier in the nose than flavor. The flavor showcases lemongrass, a tart crisp bite, sour wheaty character, yeasty. Crisp lightly funky mouthfeel with a mild spicy character.

Pootz sez: Sarah Palin wouldn’t even know what hit her, man. Alaskan farmhouses would be icy but this shit is KIND. Sour barrels not here, bro. More flour power, if you know what i mean. It’s no yogurt, but P00tz likes. I notice that 69 other raters have been on this but 70 is heavenly. I don’t know what tyto down below is talkin’ bout with those banana eaters. Yum.

750ml bottle. Blend 215/216. Huge lactic wheat presence on the nose. Cream of wheat and yogurt. Some mild banana esters. Some lemon zest tartness. Plenty funky and lactic for a hefe. A bit of barrel and wild yeast... put a big lactic grain presence. Not that it smells bad, it’s just the usual JP twist on a style. Pours a bright, clear gold with a thin ring of a white head. The first pours is quite bright and pale and the latter pours get quite cloudier and cloudier. Flavor, like the aroma is chock full of a huge lactic wheat presence. Just the smallest bit of actual hefe yeast phenolics. Mild banana notes. A touch of spice. Definite wild yeast and barrel flavors. Some musty wet wood and attic. Creamy and mouth coatingly lactic body. Quite effervescent carbonation with a tart and wheaty finish. Quite tasty. If I were rating this beer to style... it would pretty much fail.. but since I’m not... it’s incredibly delicous and thirst quenching. I would love to drink this all summer long. Intersting take on the style.

Bottle, thanks to WeeHeavySD for sharing. Pours a hazy, light gold with a white ring. Very sour aroma, of lemon, wheat, and some funk. Taste starts a bit sweet, of banana and clove, then gets very sour, with lemon and wheat. Lingering clean sour flavors. Very different, but it works nicely.

Bottle. Batch 315/316. Pale straw color with a nice big white head. Tart, light wheat aroma. Tart, citrus flavor bordering on sour with wheat and spice. Medium bodied. Refreshing. Dry finish. Tart/sour notes linger with citrus and wheat.
