Commercial Description:
The fourth in our Bam Farmhouse series, and perhaps our most adventurous; a traditional farmhouse style hefeweizen. Weizen Bam seamlessly blends traditional German style hefeweizen yeast with our own local wild and sour cultures, for a melange of the most flavorful sort. Ruddy golden, with yeast driven esters of banana, spicy clove, and nutmeg all wrapped up with a generous dose of good-natured rapscallion delight.

750ml, Batch 399/400. Always excited to try a jolly pumpkin brew, regardless of the style. Pours a hazy gold with a soft white bubbly head. Aroma of dust, citrus, a bit of sour funk and spice. Some banana comes out as it opens up. Big citrus, banana ester flavor with tart notes and spice in the finish. The mouthfeel is very light with lots of carbonation, its very easy to drink. My only complaint is that it’s too easy to drink. If this came in six packs, it would be my go to beer. A sour Hefe? hell yes.

Pours a beautiful cloudy and opaque hay-yellow. Little head. Aroma is mild with a bit of yeast. Flavor is a nice mix of nutmeg and fruitiness with some spicy undertones. Quite refreshing. A nice summer beer.

On tap @ The Malt House - Another fine beer from JP, though not their best. Pours cloudy yellow with a small white head. Smells funky and sour, with a little wheat and citrus. Taste is wheat with a grapefruit sour and a bitter hop finish. It’s smooth and medium bodied, and pretty easy drinking. I couldn’t drink a ton of this because of the sourness, but popping a bottle and sharing with the wife over dinner would be just about right.

Bottle at BCTC 2009: Very cloudy golden with a fading white head. Wheaty yeasty aroma with a touch of lemon and some dry phenolics. Crisp body with a dry lemony flavor- slightly tart with some late minerally yeast notes. Crisp and tart. A nice session.

BCTC. Pours a murky and milky yellow with a medium white head. Light citrus and spice on the nose. Seems like the perfect beer for sitting on the porch and drinking. Nice crisp lemony finish.

Slightly pale yellow pour with a frothy white head. The aroma is subtle banana and spice with some hay, lemon, and the classic JP funk, but much more subdued than any of their other beers. Very bright and light citrus with some pepperiness, clove and banana and a little buttery on the finish. The body is somewhat creamy with lots of carbonation.

Batch 315/316

9/10/2008: Jolly Pumpkin Weizen Bam has some JP funk that flattens out somewhat over the course of the bottle. The flavir is sour and yeasty with not very much wheatiness. There is a slightly amount of spice and white wine along with a touch of bittnerness in the finish. The beer pours a very pale straw, almost white color and is hazy with a foamy white head forming after the pour. It has a lively palate. overall this must e one of their lightest offerings. I was expeting more. This is more like Bam Biere Light.

Bottle shared with and thanks to xnoxhatex! Batch #399/400. Pours a slightly hazy glowing yellow/golden with a fantastic fine frothy white head. I’m already falling in-love. Crazy fruity bright lemony funky aroma with some interesting hints of aromatic tropical fruits like mango/peach and sweet banana.... love it. As usual per JP, flavor is also a bit lighter than aroma, dry with nicely accentuated nuances, slightly grainy at first, smooth tart banana, fruity, touch of alcohol, peach, lemon, funk, wonderful! Crisp light body, a bit chalky, great carbonation, softly fizzy. I would have this on tap at all times if I could.
