Commercial Description:
The fourth in our Bam Farmhouse series, and perhaps our most adventurous; a traditional farmhouse style hefeweizen. Weizen Bam seamlessly blends traditional German style hefeweizen yeast with our own local wild and sour cultures, for a melange of the most flavorful sort. Ruddy golden, with yeast driven esters of banana, spicy clove, and nutmeg all wrapped up with a generous dose of good-natured rapscallion delight.

750ml bottle, blue cap. Pours a very bright yellow., typical JP tall foamy white head. Very distinct aroma of JP yeast. Barnyard, straw, bretty-funk. Also some tropical zest and lemonade smells. Flavor is very tart, like lemonade. There is a hint of wheat. i was not expecting a sour. as a matter of fact I was expecting a Weizen Bock. A sour German Hefe? It drink pretty good. Finishes very dry, with a touch of wood tannins. Refeshing. very light bodied.

Bottle from Sicilianos in Grand Rapids, MI. Hazy straw color with creamy medium white head. Aroma is oaky, JP yeast, lemon, tropical fruit, a little sour, brett and a good amount of funk with barnyard. Flavor is lemon, orange and some other citrus, peaches, a little grain, brett, oak, jp yeast, dryer. Light, almost watery body with light carbonation. Very great, another amazing beer from JP, the only complaint from me is the body really.

On tap at the Great Taste of the Midwest (8/9/08): Cloudy hazy pale golden pour has a large frothy pillowy white head. Aroma of light tart citrus and pale malted wheat. Body starts lightly sweet and effervescent with a nice balance of light lemony tartness before a smooth, slightly doughy finish. Very drinkable and refreshing.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of fiver29. Hazy pale yellow with a lively off-white head that quickly dissipates. Thin body, quite watery actually, dry and vaguely tart with a massive carbonation and a hint of sulphur. Finishes rather dry. Nothing much happening here really. 010509
