Commercial Description:
The fourth in our Bam Farmhouse series, and perhaps our most adventurous; a traditional farmhouse style hefeweizen. Weizen Bam seamlessly blends traditional German style hefeweizen yeast with our own local wild and sour cultures, for a melange of the most flavorful sort. Ruddy golden, with yeast driven esters of banana, spicy clove, and nutmeg all wrapped up with a generous dose of good-natured rapscallion delight.

750mL bottle, Batch 315/316 purchased @ Bottle Barn. Effervescent pale yellow urine with a fizzy, yet well sustained one finger white head. Aroma of lemons, leathery brett, straw, and some dry oakand aspirin--so far I can’t really pick out much of the hefe, but has everything that makes regular Bam good. Flavor adds light bananas and wheat, and might have a hint of some spicy clove notes. Yeah, kinda hard to pick out over the sourness and lacto but they are there. Bone dry finish, bitterness peaking around a 2. High spritzy carbonation as one would expect from JP with a light body. One helluva of a thirst quencher! It is quite possibly I like this one a little more than regular Bam.

Hazy yellow, white head. Pretty good stuff, but I can’t say I’m a huge fan of Brett in a Hefe. Yeast, citrus, and funk on the aroma. A little more sour than I’d like it to be. Pretty crisp and wheaty with a good flavor, but I’d go a little easier on the wild yeast. Medium on the palate for the style.

Bottle, Cole’s Rare Beer Fest. A nice change of styles with all of these 10%+ beers going on! Neat hazy yellow with a small white head. Lemon yeasty aroma. Tate is great - very quenching lemon and yeast, great mouthfeel. It tastes better because of the thick big beers we are having today but no matter - this is complex drinkable stuff and one of the best Jolly Pumpkins I have had. Still has the Jolly slight sour edge to it as well. Great.

very cloudy, yellow with foamy white head. tart with light citrus and wheat flavors. somewhat one dimensional, but pleasant and an enjoyable drink. if it was cheaper, i could see having a pint every now and then, but as is, its nothing to write home about.

Poured a light hazy golden color with a large, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of banana, hay, clove, vanilla, citrus, toast, and toffee. Taste of citrus, lemongrass, toasted malts, light vanilla, and a tart finish.

Bottle from Bottle Barn. Light lemon color with a decent frothy white head. Aromas of lemon, clove and banana over grain. Could be some funk. Hope. Medium bodied with strongish carbonation. The funk is present. The lemon comes through. The banana is pretty much lost, and the spice is blending into the funk. Finish is tart and funky. Not their strongest/funkiest, but quite refreshing.

Pours a hazy golden yellow color wiuth a thin, bubbly white ehad that settles to a thin film. The aroma shows notes of banana, clove, to go with lemon citrus, wheat, and that typical JP funk. The flavor follows with some tart lemons, crisp wheat, and some funky yeast. The oak seems to balance things out from getting sour. Light bodied with good carbonation that is very dry and refreshing. This one goes down smooth and is very easy drinking. Nice take on the style from these guys.

Not a weizen, more farmhouse. Thanks boutip.A medium mouthfeel, lightly orange coloured body with retained white bubbly head. Taste is a bit sour, almost delicate spicyness with noticeable wheat. A tad grassy aroma. Good balance between the sour wheat, the hops.
