Commercial Description:
The fourth in our Bam Farmhouse series, and perhaps our most adventurous; a traditional farmhouse style hefeweizen. Weizen Bam seamlessly blends traditional German style hefeweizen yeast with our own local wild and sour cultures, for a melange of the most flavorful sort. Ruddy golden, with yeast driven esters of banana, spicy clove, and nutmeg all wrapped up with a generous dose of good-natured rapscallion delight.

gotta love how bocky gives thanks to himself for bringing this out in his review!

cloudy dull yellow color with a dense tight white head. this actually smells like a bale of hay mixed with dirty wheat, slightly sour lemon, some spicy clove, cement and a bunch of that famous JP stink! oddly delicious flavor combo... earthy dusty wheat, clove, lemon, banana, slight floral notes and spice with a really dry finish. i taste all the hefe stuff then realize, hey, there’s some stoney dry JP funk in here! the body is seemingly light since it is considerably drier than the run of the mill hefe and the carbonation is crazy lively.

neat-o. 8/4/8/3/16/3.9

25 oz bottle. Pours a cloudy yellow with a nice tight bubbled white head. Nice earthy wheat and hay with a slightly sour tinge, a little bit of stinky feet, and some nice white pepper and oak. Pretty funky flavor, but not over the top at all. Slightly sour with a nice bretty earthiness, A little dusty on the finish with white pepper. No hefe yeast character really, the funk seems to have overpowered the fruity esters. Mouthfeel is pretty dry with a great lively level of carbonation. Overall, these Bam Beers just keep getting better.

Pours a cloudy golden color with a thick, white head. Interesting aroma of wild brettanomyces, bananas and spices. Good flavor of brett, bananas and spices. The body is light with an oily texture and lively carbonation. Not as wild and amazing as the regular Bam, but still it’s an interesting experiment.

Bananas and clove, lemon zest, funky bam aromas. Pours a cloudy yellow with a thick white head. Tart and funky, lemony, hints of nutmeg, clove, with classic Jolly Pumpkin funk, finishes very dry. Another great beer from Jolly Pumpkin!

Sample courtesy of Bockyhorsey at the hellbilly holiday tasting. Nice cloudy gold color with a small foamy head that lasts. Lots of yeast, wheat, citrus and funk in the aroma. Grain, yeast, lemon and funk in the flavor. Light and smooth on the palate. A really good hefe! Thanks Bill!

Sample courtesy of bockyhorsey at hellbilly*s holiday tasting. Pours a hazy yellow with a white head. Nose is sour wheat, barnyard funk and malt. Taste is malt, sour lemons and more barnyard funk with some aspirin in the finish. Lighter mouth feel. Good brew. Thanks Bill!
