Commercial Description:
The fourth in our Bam Farmhouse series, and perhaps our most adventurous; a traditional farmhouse style hefeweizen. Weizen Bam seamlessly blends traditional German style hefeweizen yeast with our own local wild and sour cultures, for a melange of the most flavorful sort. Ruddy golden, with yeast driven esters of banana, spicy clove, and nutmeg all wrapped up with a generous dose of good-natured rapscallion delight.

Tap: The aroma is combination of floral notes, mustiness, light lemon, and very faint banana. It pours a cloudy dull pale yellow with a large white head with excellent retention. Significant sudsy lacing is left behind. The flavor starts with a moderate lemon sourness that lingers throughout and mixes with some light floral hoppiness in the finish. Minimal hefe characteristics outside of the faint banana in the aroma. Very similar to regular Bam Biere only more lemon sourness and less floral notes. Light bodied with minimal carbonation and a soft mouthfeel. I don’t know if this was what was intended since I find minimal hefe characteristics, but I really dig it. Very refreshing.

Hazy gold with big, foamy white head / Complex, floral and bretty nose of orchard fruit, citrus, and spice / Very light body, tart and acidic, with good balance and long, dry finish / Subdued flavors of lemon, wheat, banana, oak, and a good dose of barnyard funk / A stretch to call it a hefeweizen, but nonetheless a great wheat beer by the Pumpkin without peer.

22oz bottle courtesy of Beerorlando. Pours a hazy light yellow. Awesome tart funky nose with hints of clove and cinnamon. Sour bite up front. Huge tart notes with a subtle straw and wheat finish and a funky bretty lingering tang. Awesome beer.

750ml Bottle @ redlight, redlight. Poured a clear straw yellow with a medium head the faded fast. Aroma of green apples. Nice light clean sourness. No funk. More Saison then Hefe. Great clean summer ale.

Pours pale gold into a tulip. Bright white fluffy head with good retention recedes leaving spotty spiders. Orange, pear and apple funk aromas. Crisp sour apple upfront flattening out into a lasting marshmallow wheat finish. I’m not getting any hefe...

Great Taste ’08. Pours a hazy yellowed light golden orangy yellow with a decent white head. The nose is sharper than the standard bam but a long shot, perhaps due to both oak and microbes. There’s some fruity esters to round it out as well. A lively body, with small bubbles and a bit of heft. The flavor is dry and refreshing, yet estery from the wheat. A bit of salt and lacto for sure, mingling well with the oak and esters. A really delightful beer. One of my favorites of the day.

Cloudy, pale golden colored beer beneath a thin white head. Aromas of wheat, yeast esters (clove) and hints of oak. Fruity wheat flavors accompanied by some funky yeast. Pleasant tartness followed by some dry woody notes in the finish. Very nice, thanks to Mike (swoopjones) for sharing.

2008 MiBGF: Hazy golden hue with great head and lace. The aroma has notes of wheat and yeast driven esters, apricot and apple, floral hops, slight clean oak, neato! The taste is very twangy and acidic with a solid wheat and biscuity background. A dry woody tannic finish. The mouth feel is quite refreshing and highly carbonated. Very very nice bier, I like it and need more.
