pivo (2486), Germany Apr 20, 2008 Onyx color, soufflee-like head. Dark chocolate in the nose and body. Very bitter espresso end. Thinish body but overall an interesting beer and fun to drink.
Ober (302), Best, Netherlands Aug 24, 2008 A dark red/brown colored beer with a foamy beige head. The aroma of soft roasted malts, smoked dark fruits.
The taste of old thin coffee, with a little roasted malt. Also a little sweet, grassy and a little bitterness. The aftertaste is dry and medium smoked. Borresteijn (542), Amstelveen, Netherlands Aug 11, 2008 On tap @ Arendsnest. Dark brown/black colour, creamy beige head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malts, caramel. Taste is sweet, coffee, roasted malts and some chocolate. Slight bitterness, mainly sweet. Thin body. Bullit (533), Zeist, Netherlands Jul 30, 2008 Tap @ Kafe Belgie. Dark brown colour, tan head. Nice aroma of roasted malts, coffee and chocolate. Flavour has roasted malt, coffee and some fruits, but too watery. gmonroe10 (112), Netherlands Jul 21, 2008 Bottle. Pours a a dark redwith beige head. Nose is delicious and edible, an extremely strong sweet toffee and a hint of vanilla. Taste is a bit less than the smell, a very pleasant toffee, creamy and buttery. Seems to be lacking a bit of complexity, and body is a bit watery- doesn’t quite live up to the hype of the smell. badbeer (409), Iowa, USA Jul 6, 2008 Dark brown with an off-white head, leaving some lacing. Smell is sweet, a little bit of cream, soft vanilla. Taste seems somewhat similar to Guinness--No, Guinness is not the only other stout I’ve had--It’s like a sweet or milk stout, it has cream-like flavors to it. Mouthfeel is as if it was a nitro beer and has a little less than medium body to it. This was drinkable, but I probably wouldn’t seek this one out. Probably worth a try if you’re in Belgium.
