Commercial Description:
Brewed by Huyghe for Jopen (www.jopen.nl). Until 2006 brewed by Van Steenberge. Brewed with three grains: barley, oats and wheat, as requested in mediaeval Haarlem, fresh-bitterish hops and spicey coriander. Jopen Lentebier is unfiltered and gets a secondary fermentation in the bottle. A darker blonde beer with a fruity aroma and a fresh, fullbodied taste.

Hazy orange colored brew. Sweet and fruity aroma. Flavor is fruity, citric and a bit sweet. A bit herbal.

Bottle from a gift pack. Orange golden colour, white head. Aroma of sweet malts and coriander, citrus, fruits. Flavour is spicy sweet, coriander and anis. Too sweet for me.

(Bottled) Clear golden with lots of floating, white yeast particles and a small, firm and lacy head. Sweetish, honey-malty and citrusy aroma with some nuttyness. Grainy-malty, dryish and grassy-hoppy, bitter flavor with light fruitiness and nutty coriander spiciness. Hides the alcohol well until it warms up. Medium-bodied with slightly fizzy carbonation. Spicy, herby and hoppy, easy to drink - yet not something I’d buy again.

Pale orange, poured with floaty bits as I wasn’t careful. Simple hoppy aroma, soft and sweet, a little creamy, some citrus. Zingy zesty fruit-cake taste, very clear bitter noble hops too. Quite exciting at first. Alas it doesn’t improve as it warms, in fact it gets a little flat and dulls a bit.

I saw this labeled as maibock. Nose of coriander, hay and perfumed clove, obviously not maibok. Chewy but light, with a flavor of sweet candy sugar, mild fruit and heavy coriander.
