Borresteijn (443), Amstelveen, Netherlands Aug 8, 2008 On tap @ Arendsnest, a few weeks ago. A hazy copper/golden coloured beer, creamy head. Aroma of soft and sweet malts, spices, sugar. Taste is of a soft and sweet blonde, creamy and rich, with a subtle red pepper taste. Peppers come out more pronounced in the back of your mouth when you wait a while between sips. Soft and creamy mouthfeel. Very nice. Ober (276), Best, Netherlands Aug 4, 2008 At the tasting session by Joes. The beer is known as Rock’n Roel. It’s a dark golden colored beer, with a white head. The aroma very spicey with some malts. The taste is very spicey, a lot a peppers, so it’s burning. The aftertaste is warm and stille very spicey. To much spices in it. bierkoning (4691), La Tropica, Netherlands Aug 2, 2008 Corked bottle. Pinkish golden color. Malt and peppr in the aroma. Flowery, slightly citric hopbitter flavor with some pepper, coming through, especially in the aftertaste. Drinkable, in spite of the peppers. caesar (2496), Zeist, Netherlands Jul 15, 2008 Bottled. Hazy orange brown color, medium head. Aroma is grassy, slight spicy, hint of fruit. Very peppery taste, quite sharp in the palate. Body was too thin and pepper too much in my opinion. Interesting though. skortila (2388), Bunnik, Netherlands Jul 15, 2008 Bottled. 0,75cl. As Jopen Rock ’n Roel. Aroma has grass and aprikot, some spice. Hazy, orange coloured with an off-white, thin head. Taste is quite sharp peppery. It has some hoppiness and citrus. I wouldn’t call the pepper subtle, to me it’s quite dominant and not really balanced. (well okay it’s not a cave creek chili luckily)
